Hello Monday!

I can't believe tomorrow is February. This month has just flown by. I got my laptop over the weekend and I couldn't be happier. My desktop runs like crap compared to the new laptop. My old netbook that I had was small, I think the screen was like 10.1", I drove me nuts trying to browse the web. Plus it too was slow as molasses. I had to make sure I was going to be happy so I got a top notch laptop for what I could afford, it "snappy" and the screen is huge - 17.3". The is no delay in opening pages or downloading photos and programs. I just can't say enough about how great it is. :-)

Unfortunately I don't have any projects for you mostly because I didn't have any free time to make anything and my desk is a mess again, no room to do anything. LOL! I just wanted to stop in and say HI! LOL!

I also wanted to let you know about some changes that are being made. I would have talked about it tomorrow with the release of February's kit and the beautiful LO I have to share but I didn't want to bombard you guys with too much.

Here are a couple of the changes:

  • Artfuldelight web store is moving to a new URL as well as getting a makeover. I mostly only sell monthly kits and the way it was set up before it just wasn't working out for me.
  • In addition to the makeover at Artfuldelight store, tomorrow you will also see my blog will be changed. I am pretty excited. It is nothing big but the problem with my old setup was the girl that created my pages didn't give me much to work with to expand, make buttons and logos to coordinate. She was kinda busy with her own work and such that after she did my page she wasn't going to do "side work" anymore. I had to figure out how to do all that myself. So it won't be this extravagant blog LO but I did it and I will be able to change it as I need.
  • OK, the final update and this one kinda bothered me but it had to be done. When I started selling the kits 6 months ago now (wow can't believe it's been that long) I priced them with no intentions of making a living off of the kits. I REALLY enjoy what I do and meeting the people I meet. Well with that said, as packed as this kits are and as low as the price was (in addition to the price of shipping) I was actually losing money every month. Now I know I shouldn't have to go in to detail about this but I want everyone to know that I didn't raise prices just because I thought I could. I did it so I could keep selling these awesome kits. If you love the prices that I offered before I am all for it but I would not be able to offer such "full" kits. So I had to raise the prices on the shipping and the monthly kits. I hope this doesn't steer anyone away from checking out our fabulous kits, when I say raise the prices I only did it by $3-4. If you already have a subscription your prices will not change for the length of your time. If you renew it would go up. With that said, if you would like to take advantage of the lower prices I would subscribe today, prices will change tomorrow. :-)
I would really appreciate any feedback you may have for me. When I order the items for the kits you just can't imagine how hard it is for me to not go crazy, it takes a lot of will power to stop spending. LOL! Again if you like kits that aren't as full with goodies, I can make smaller kits and keep it at the lower price. I just don't think those are as much fun. *wink*

Ok, so if you have made it through reading all of this, I THANK YOU! I am so excited about all the new releases with CHA and cannot wait to put together kits using some fabulous paper and embellishments. :-)

Be sure to stop by tomorrow, I will have a beautiful LO to share with you, the sketch challenge will be posted and you can see my new web sites. I will provide the new URL for the web store tomorrow since I won't have it completed until then.

Happy Friday! Love LO

Happy Friday! What a week it has been. I wish I was at CHA, that's for sure. I am crossing my fingers to be able to go to CHA Summer in Chicago. My family lives about 30 min from where they will have it so that would be awesome. :-)

This week has been crazy, they closed all schools in the area on Wednesday including college. It was nice because we were able to get caught up on school work. Then during the day on Thursday we got hit with about 10" of snow. I LOVE IT!!!!! The problem is Virginia isn't equipped to handle large amounts of snow, so a little bit of snow seems to slow the town down, 10" of snow practically closes the town down. In IL, with a big snow fall, it would be cleared by morning and people would be able to go about their business as usual. Anywho, not only did schools close Wednesday but they closed the rest of the week. And now it is snowing again, YIKES. Thankfully Tony (who works one hour from home and has to drive up and down the mountains) now has an AWD car. That car can handle anything. LOL!

I am also super excited to be getting a new laptop this weekend. My computer time has been so limited without it. So I will be back full force blog hopping (hopefully) by Monday. YAY for me!

Now on to today's project, a SUPER DUPER cute LO that DT member April created. She used January's monthly kit which is unfortunately sold out but hopefully we can still provide you with some inspiration. :-)

I LOVE the pattern paper in the Cupcake Love collection. Please visit April's blog for full details about the LO!

I am extremely excited about all the new goodies coming out with CHA! The kits in the upcoming months are just going to be fabulous. Really I can't wait to start working with some of the new collections and products coming out. Hey, have you pre-ordered your February kit yet? If you like the kit and are not a subscriber you should do so because supplies are limited and they are selling fast. :-) There is a link in the top of my sidebar to pre-order a kit. I am hoping to get them shipped this weekend but with it snowing again I am not sure if that will happen. My Ford Explorer does not have AWD and it doesn't handle snow very well. :-(

Well that is it for today, didn't blog for a couple days and here I am just a chatty Cathy! LOL!

Winner and a LO!

Good Morning! OH MY GOODNESS, I got halfway through typing this post and I thought it was Thursday the whole time. I was bummed because I thought I had missed the deadline for playing along with The Paper Variety. Seriously, what day is today, is it Tuesday or Thursday?

Well if it is in fact Tuesday then I will be able to submit my LO to The Paper Variety for this week's sketch challenge.

I was trying to get through my Macroeconomics homework last night and my brain kept hurting, so I decided to take frequent breaks and try to complete a LO. It was my stress reliever. :-)

Ok, well first I would like to announce the winner of January's sketch challenge ASC4 - Julie at life with the Tucker and Wolek clan. Here was Julie's submisson:

I LOVE Julie's work, it is always so bright and colorful and filled with awesome embellishments. And her daughter, oohhh she is a cutie!!!

If you aren't already a follower on Julie's blog, you should be, she is an awesome inspiration, very talented. :-)

I want to thank everyone that has entered the challenge this month, the choice was hard, all the submissions were amazing and creative. We will definitely be having a sketch challenge in February, I may have the prize be the kit and GDT spot again.

Ok, now for my LO I created for The Paper Variety sketch challenge.

And here is my take on the sketch:
Ok, I think that is it for today. Oh don't forget to pre-order your kit for February (link on the sidebar). I also plan on having a giveaway for my Facebook peeps so make sure you "like" me so you can get in on the fun. :-)

XOXO

Good Morning!! Totally forgot to post this earlier this morning! It is another fabulous LO from DT member Debbie. It is beautiful.

For full details on this LO please check out Debbie's blog. I am on my way out the door to go to school. I will have the winner of this month's sketch challenge to announce tomorrow.

Over the Years

Good Morning! What a wonderful feeling it was to sit down and craft last night. It has been forever mostly because of school and the kids but also because my craft desk is a mess. LOL! But last night I shoved everything aside and whipped out some crafty supplies and participated in Sketchy Thursdays 1/20/11 sketch.

Those are pictures of my beautiful 13 year old daughter, Nicki! Oh my how she has grown, she will actually be 14 in April. I got a little teary eyed making this LO, just seeing how much she has grown. She will be in high school next year and driving and getting a job in just a few short years. Where has the time gone?

The colorful pattern papers are from Echo Parks Walk in the Park collection. I absolutely LOVE it and can't wait to use it more. It is so bright and colorful and certainly put a smile on my face. The background paper is from Pink Paislee's Parisian Anthology collection, which will be included in February's kit. The hanging tag with "2010" on it will also be in the kit. The twine was from November's kit. The Thickers are Bones in Leaf from October's kit. September and October kits are still available.

I also wanted to send out a big apology to all my bloggy friends for not being able to visit your blogs more often over the last month or so. See my laptop crashed just before the end of last semester. I used to be able to sit downstairs with the kids and play on the computer while they played or whatever. Since it crashed, my computer time is so limited since my desktop is in my bedroom with all my craft stuff and I don't like being in there when the kids are awake. 2 reasons, one they like to touch all my crafty supplies and two, I would be upstairs and they would always go downstairs and get in to the food in the kitchen or something they shouldn't be. LOL! I do plan on getting another laptop within the next week or so and should be blog hopping up a storm. :-)

Oohh, don't forget to enter your project by 11:59pm EST tonight for your chance to win February's kit and GDT spot.

Small updates

*I just realized when I reread this that I used "also" a lot, so sorry for that. Unfortunately I am too tired tonight to fix that, LOL!* Have a great night!

Good morning and Happy Saturday. I have had some great response to February's kit so I think they will go fast. Depending on how many are interested I may replenish the supply when we sell out. So if you are interested there is a button on the sidebar where you can pre-order your kit. This will give me an idea of whether or not I should put together more kits. You can also subscribe to a 3 or 6 month subscription at Artfuldelight.

Also you have until Sunday, January 23rd at 11:59pm EST to enter this month's sketch challenge for your chance to win February's kit and a Guest Designer spot. This month the winner will not be chosen via random.org, instead I will chose the winner. It will be tough because all the entries are fabulous. That is why I usually use random.org. :-)

Also I have had a couple people follow me on Facebook and I totally appreciate it, however when I was trying to set up the business profile I was having trouble. So most of you know me/search me or click my link and it leads you to my unused profile. Click here to "like"/follow me on Facebook. I would like to start using that more.

Also for all you Twitter users, Artfuldelight is now on Twitter. :-) YIPPEE!! Check me out @artfuldelight to get the latest news and giveaways. :)

Love Frame

Good Morning! Ok crafty friends the project I have to share with you today is absolutely fabulous. I think it turned out so beautiful, unfortunately I cannot take any credit for it. LOL!

DT member Debbie created this beauty! I love all the elements she used. Some items are from the January kit and she actually used items from November's kit. The leaves behind those beautiful flowers are from November. In addition she used some items from her own stash of goodies. Please visit Debbie's blog for complete details about today's project!

Treat bag

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday! Schools were closed yesterday so my daughter was home and my son didn't have speech therapy. Seriously Virginia so does not know how to handle a little snow. We accumulated 1/2 inch of snow and they closed schools. It was a quiet day, since Nicki was home she helped with the lil ones so I could sneak to my room and complete some of my homework. I am a wee bit ahead which feels great!

Now on to today's project which was created by Debbie. Adorable treat bag, I just love it. Not to mention perfect for little candies for Valentines Day. I wish Nicki was a little younger when when she got to pass out Valentines in class, I would so make a bunch for her. I have my work cut out for me when the 3 lil ones get in school though. They will be one grade apart. YIKES!

This treat bag was created using papers from the January monthly kit which is unfortunately sold out but hopefully we can still provide you with some inspiration. Yum, candy hearts. My favorite are the ones that are like sweet tarts, not the other kind. :-)

Please visit Debbie's blog for full details.

Sweet and Silly

Another quick post, school is kicking my butt this semester. On top of all the other stuff going on....ya know that thing called life, I am not sure I am going to make it. LOL!

Today I have a LO to share with you that Debbie created. I just love all the pink in the kit. Super cute!!!

I LOVE how she added the hearts to the Thickers....for full details about the LO please visit Debbie's blog. Now unfortunately the January kit is sold out so hopefully you got your hands on one but if you didn't head over to Sketchy Thursdays to find out how you can win one. I will tell you though, February kit is going to be FABULOUS! So if you aren't already a subscriber to the monthly kits, you might want to do that. Our 6 month subscription is offered at a super low monthly charge of $23.99 plus tax. Changes are in the works with the monthly kits (hopefully starting with March kit) so you might want to lock in a 6 month subscription price now, kit prices may be going up a wee bit. I would really love to offer the kit at such a wonderful price but it seems month after month they are packed with tons of goodies so I am trying to decide if I want a mini kit and a main kit or something along those lines. Feel free to leave me a comment with your opinion. Would you rather have a "cheaper" kit with less stuff or a kit with more stuff but would cost a little more than what I am charging now. For a single purchase the kit is $27.99 plus tax. A 3 month subscription is $25.99 plus tax and 6 month is $23.99.

Please let me know what you think! So I guess this post wasn't as short as I had expected but that's ok. :-) Don't forget to head to Debbie's blog for full details about the LO. And check back tomorrow for another project from Debbie!

Hello my friend

Boy oh boy Friday was a rough day, my lil ones were really sick. My son was at his worst, he threw up a couple times and couldn't even get off the couch. He slept all day and still went to bed at 6pm. I felt so bad for him, he is a pretty independent little boy but he wanted his mama all day. He kept telling me he wanted a hug and wanted to cuddle. Sweet Isabel was a little sick, nothing like her brother though. Yesterday was sort of a recovery day. He kept his food down, was laughing and did a little running around but still said his belly hurt and couldn't make it past 6:30pm......he was out like a light. LOL!

On to other news, January's kit is SOLD OUT! But don't fret, you can try to win January's kit over at Sketchy Thursdays. Click here!

Don't forget to enter Artfuldelight's sketch challenge for your chance to win February's kit and be Guest Designer for the month. Wahooo!

And now the project, the FABULOUS project that DT Courtney created. Aren't the tops of those cupcakes C-U-T-E!!! Click here to find out the full deets on how she created those. :-)

Oh and what last thing, anyone that won a prize here over the last month I mailed a bunch of boxes the other day. If you have not received your prize and don't receive something in the next week, PLEASE let me know. I am so sorry it took me so long to get those out to everyone, I am usually very prompt about that. I will be having some more giveaways very soon.

Will you be mine?

Happy Thursday! Well today is just another day, nothing going on. My lil man Tony and a little stomach bug, he keeps telling me his belly hurts and it breaks my heart. Nothing I can do about it but cuddle with him. My microwave took a crap last night, never realize how much I rely on one until it's gone, lol!

But on to happier news, today's card was created by DT member Courtney!

I really like how this card turned out, with the Thickers and the white card stock behind it. Super quick post today since I need to get back to my lil sicklings. :-(

I {heart} U and Yoga!

Happy Wednesday! This week may be a bit slow/quiet around here. I apologize but I am trying to wrap my brain around my 5 classes I am taking. I would like to take a moment and say that I absolutely LOVE Yoga. It is a class I am taking for my PE requirement. Now my kids have a tendency to stress me out and lately my patience level is extremely low. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I had a really hard time getting mad or stressed today. Ok so you know when you get mad or stressed or frustrated you can this tension in the pit of your stomach? Or is that just me? LOL, anywho all day today when my kids started to put me in that mood and just as my stomach started to tense up, I stopped myself, took a couple deep breaths and I was able to continue in a calm manner. It was/is an AMAZING feeling.

Yesterday in class we did mostly breathing exercises and learned a handful of poses. I am totally sore today, LOL, and I feel calmer. I LOVE Yoga. I found a Yoga class in town but they want $55 a month, Tony and paid that for both of us to attend the gym, I certainly don't think we could pay that for me to attend a couple classes a month. But anyways, if you haven't tried Yoga, I highly recommend you do. I was skeptical about it, didn't think it was something I could get in to but I did, I have and I LOVE it.

Now on the the craftiness you came here for! :-) Today's card was created by DT member April!

Super cute!! For full details about the card, stop by April's blog. Well I am off to school. Hopefully I will be back tomorrow with more projects using January's monthly kit. :-)

Sweet

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Today is the first day of classes for the Spring semester. This semester my classes are a little more spread out but that means Tony and I will see each other less. Last semester I didn't start until 2pm and ended at 6:40. Tony had to meet me at school with the kids because he started at 7pm and that wasn't enough time for me to drive home and back. So we were able to spend the morning and early afternoon together. This semester I start at 11am, end at 1:45pm. I will be able to drive home, have lunch with Tony and then he will have to be in class at 3:30pm and not come home until 10:30pm. It stinks but we will get through this semester just like we did last one.

Hopefully his work schedule will keep him on 4/10hr days since neither of us have school on Friday, we will be able to spend some time together as well as get homework done. :-)

Ok, so on to the fun stuff, today's card was brought to you by DT member Courtney.

Aren't those lil cupcakes adorable?? They are the cutest little felt cupcake embellishments. They are included in the kit, I purchased them from craftembellishmentworld.com. Super cute card! There is only one kit left! You can also have a chance to win January's monthly kit over at Sketchy Thursdays.

Be sure to stop by Courtney's blog, spread the love! :-)

Heart LO

Today I have a LO to share with you that DT member April created using the January kit.

April also used January's sketch to create this LO. I think what I love the most about this LO is how she used the papers from the kit to create a "girlie" LO, not a themed Valentine's or Birthday LO. It allows you to see the versatility of the kit. There are some great patterns in the Cupcake Love collection. You can create Valentine's cards, Birthday LO's or just a girlie themed project. This LO is super cute, April did a fabulous job!! For full details about the LO please visit April's blog.

Ok, so I haven't heard back from the winner of the Zap! Heat Gun yet. Tiffany, please contact me with you mailing info so I can get your prize in the mail. :-) Since school starts tomorrow, it will probably be a decently busy day. If I don't hear from Tiffany in 48 hrs I will chose a new winner Tuesday afternoon.

Last but not least, we only have one January kit left. Be sure to snatch it up before we sell out. Good news is that I am sponsoring over at Sketchy Thursdays. How cool is that!!! They are having a February Guest Designer sketch challenge. Not only will the winner be the Guest Designer for February but they will also win Artfuldelight's January kit. WAHOOO!! For more details click here! The challenge ends on January 22 at midnight EST! Don't forget Artfuldelight's sketch challenge ends January 23rd at midnight EST.

Ok, I think that is all I have for you today! You have some crafting to do so get going! :-)

Beautiful Cupcake

Happy Saturday! School starts in 2 days and I am so totally excited with a hint of being nervous. I am just eager to get this done and over. It has been absolutely wonderful having the opportunity to be home with my kids but financially it sucks. LOL! I was never home with my oldest daughter. Being a single mom for about 7 years I had to sometimes work 3+ jobs just to make ends meet. So when I was given the opportunity to stay home I was really excited!

On to today's card and the winner of the Zap! Heat Gun giveaway. DT member Courtney created this cupcake card using January's monthly kit.

With my Cricut I use SCAL, but after seeing this card Courtney has made me want to go buy the cartridge she used to create this card. It is simply fabulous!!! I love how she used the Stickles that's included in the kit. For complete details about this card be sure to stop by her blog. Plus she announced some really exciting news and I am super happy for her!

And now for the winner of the Zap! Heat Gun! Thanks to random.org for chosing the number and it was #9, Tiffany at Breakfast @ Tiffany's. Please email your mailing info so I can get your prize in the mail. leeanne@artfuldelight.com

That is all I have for you today!

Pink Blooms

Happy Friday! So all week since January 1st, I thought it was one day later than it really was. Ya know how sometimes that happens but either when you realize what day it really is or the next day comes you seem to be back on track? Well not me, everyday even after I realized what day it was seemed one day later. It was really annoying. So this week basically flew by for me. Monday I am back in class. WAHOO!!!

Well today I have a LO to share with you that DT member Debbie created using Artfuldelight's January kit. Hurry because there are only 2 kits left!

I LOVE this LO, all the pink and flowers, butterflies oh my! It is just beautiful. Be sure to stop by Debbie's blog for more info and more inspiration. Debbie is amazing, not one LO of Debbie's have I not thought in my hear "OOOhhh WOW, I love that". Seriously!!

Anywho just a couple things I wanted say, January's sketch challenge ends January 23, click here to enter. The prize is February's kit and a Guest Designer spot in February! :-)

Also I was so excited when I received an email saying that my "Believe" LO was featured on Sketches4all. You should check it out, click here! That totally made my day!

I will have the winner of the heat gun for you later today so check back.

Do you see the banner at the top of my blog for Stacy Jay Jewelry? Stacy is a friend from high school. We lost touch over the years but thanks to Facebook we were able to get back in touch a few months back. We both took Jewelry in high school, I LOVED it. I should have pursued that further. Maybe when I start working and we make more money I can afford to take on that hobby too. Anywho, you should check out her Etsy store, she makes some really awesome jewelry and I am thinking that my next giveaway will be from her store. :-) So check it out!!

I think that is all for today!

Better late than never

It is a cold sunny day here in Winchester (VA) which makes for a perfect day to spend time with the family. Took a quick break to make this post and then it's off to put some puzzles together with my hunny while the kids paint. Only a couple more "family" days until school starts up again and then it will be busy busy busy!!!

Last month flew by and I didn't have much time to craft so I am a little late on making this gift for my son's speech therapist, Ms Lindsey. But better late than never right?

I bought the frame from Staples for $9.99. It is actually a flyer display. LOL! I found out a little while back that Ms. Lindsey is from IL (my home state), southern IL but non-the-less IL. :-) She moved to Virginia over the summer which was right after she graduated college. She moved here for work so she doesn't know anyone. I know the first year I moved away I felt pretty homesick.

Ms. Lindsey went home for the holiday so I figured a nice frame to put a family photo in would be the way to go. The supplies I used to decorate the frame is all from Crate Paper's Brook Collection. I absolutely love that collection, the colors and images, just beautiful!! I sponged the edges of the inside cream colored paper with Tim Holtz Tea Die. You can't really see it very well (nasty glare if I took the photo head on) but one of the die cuts says "celebrate" so it would read "celebrate family". I will be giving it to Ms. Lindsey tomorrow. I hope she likes it!

Don't forget tomorrow ends the Zap! Heat Gun giveaway so click here to enter!

I would also like to point out that Debbie, you were right, January's kit is selling like hotcakes. LOL! I think I only have 2 left so make sure you head over to Artfuldelight and pick one up before it's too late. :-)

Believe

Hello crafty friends. I hope 2011 has been treating y'all well so far. Today I actually have a project to share with you that I created. I actually got to sit down and craft, YAY! It is a LO I made with the Santa picture.

I had some items left from the December kit so I was excited to play with them. A lot of the items I used were from a Secret Santa exchange I played along with at Sketches4All. Well that is all I have today, my kids are all yelling at me so I need to go. LOL!

Love

Good Morning! I am super excited to share with you today's project. It is the first one using the January's kit and sketch. This month I gave the DT the option to use the sketch for a LO or a card since it seemed card maker friendly. DT member Courtney made a card and I must say it is everything I had hoped for and more out of this kit.

I love how bright and colorful the Cupcake Love collection is. I think this kit really can be for card makers as well, I am glad we decided to go with this collection in January. Gives you an opportunity to get the kit and make those Valentine's Day cards. It is also perfect for a Birthday LO. For complete details about the card please visit Courtney's blog.

Happy New Year - ASC4

Yippee 2011! I am so excited about this year. I will be a full time student working my way towards an education so when I get back in to the working world I can help support my family. Tony will be able to quit his job and focus on full time school. I will be sad to leave my kids before the original plan which was when they were all in school but with Tony home at least they won't have to go to daycare. Hopefully by the Fall of 2012 we will move out of the place we are in and financially be ready to buy a place. Cross your fingers. LOL!

Well now on to the good stuff. I have this month's sketch challenge. This month's sketch was created by Debbie! I greatly appreciate her doing that for me because I stink at making sketches. LOL!

I LOVE this sketch. It is very simple which gives so much opportunity to get creative. Plus it can easily be used for card makers. So go get crafty! The winner of this months challenge will win February's monthly kit AND be Artfuldelight's Guest Designer for February! This challenge will end January 23 at midnight EST.

Oh and January's kit is now available at Artfuldelight. Be sure to check it out, our kits are jam packed with fabulous goodies at a fabulous price. Purchase a single month kit for $28.99 plus tax.
