Farewell

Hello my friends. I just realized it was April 30th, the last day of the month, and I wanted to stop in and say a FAREWELL to our two Delightful Designers. April concludes Kelly and Julie's term with us. It has been an absolute delight to work with Kelly and Julie, they are super sweet and super talented. I hope that you have found them a great inspiration over the last 6 months and I hope you stopped by their blogs and became followers. I feel very lucky to call them my friends and I wish them nothing but happiness. :-)

You Make Me Happy

Happy Sunday!!! What are your plans for the day? I have to work for a couple hours this morning and then come home to spend the day with my kids. If it warms up a bit we will go outside so I can mow the lawn. Fun!!   I am going to make sure whatever house I move to in Arizona does not have an ounce of grass.  LOL!!  I am tired of maintaining my lawn.  haha

Anywho, today I have a LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Debbie, has created using our April scrapbook kit.  :-)

 DEBBIE

Fabulous LO!! CAS with just the right amount of detail.  For more details about this LO please visit Debbie's blog.

Our new sketch challenge starts in 2 days.  And we have a new addition to our monthly challenge so be sure to stop by on May 1.

Spotlight Saturday

Good Morning my friends!!  Where has the time gone, I cannot believe April is coming to  an end.  I am just not ready.  LOL!!  I have so much to do and so little time.  The anticipation of moving this summer is finally coming true.  Tony and I have talked about this move for probably 2 years, since we started school.   I have been planning our travels and hotels stays across the country since well before I should have - searched schools, did my research on cities to live and schools far before I probably should have.  But now, now it is all becoming reality and I don't feel anywhere near as prepared as I should be.  LOL!!  We have lived in our house for 3 years, I know for many of you that doesn't seem very long but for my family it feels like forever.  We are friendly with our neighbors and know people when we go shopping, and to move from that now feels really scary.  I am nervous we don't have jobs, we don't know where we are going to live and mainly because there is nothing we can do about that 3 months away.  We can't even show interest in a rental until about 2-3 weeks before moving and move jobs won't even give us the time of day since we don't reside in AZ.  Oh, anyway I am thinking positive thoughts that all this will work out.  :-)

So today I have some project to share with you from our April Guest Designer, Charlotte, using our April scrapbook kit.  Charlotte totally rocked this months kit.  Take a look at these LO's.

Do you see the "sunshine" on the LO above.  I thought to myself "oh that is really cool, I wonder where she got it" then I realized it was the "sunshine" chipboard included in the kit.  Duh!!  Looks like she blinged it out with some glitter and  love how it pops against the rest of the page.  LOVE it!!

This LO is fabulous.  Those alphas are included in the kit and I like how she used the black behind it to make those pop too.  :-)

Thank you so much Charlotte for guest designing with us this month.

Alright, I hope everyone has a delightful weekend.  I will be back tomorrow with another LO using our April scrapbook kit.

Just You & I

Happy Friday my friends!! Another week has come and gone. :-)   97 days until I am in my car with my family driving across the country, moving to the desert.  I couldn't be more excited.

Well today I have a LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Kelly, created using our April scrapbook kit. Unfortunately this is the last post sharing Kelly's work.  She is extremely talented and will be missed on our team.  Both Kelly and Julie's DT term ends this month and they will BOTH be missed.  BUT we all know where to find them - I hope you have taken a moment to stop by and follow their blogs.  Two super sweet, super talented ladies that have a lot of inspiration to offer on their blogs. June will join us for one last month in June.  She had to take April and May off because she was moving in to her new absolutely beautiful home.  I was fortunate enough to see it in person and I couldn't be happier for her.

Kelly has totally rocked each and every kit she received over the last 6 months and today's project is no exception.  I love all the detail she adds to her LO's.  Distressed edges, layering, inking.....just delightful.

KELLY

I LOVE it, that photo it super sweet!! For more inspiration and details about this LO, please visit Kelly's blog.

That's it for today. I will be back tomorrow with another Spotlight Saturday post featuring our April guest designer, Charlotte.

Stylin' & Profilin

Good Morning my friends. Other than a final in my Business Law class I am done with Spring semester. Totally excited. I am able to put more hours in at work and get my house and life in order to make our final long distance move. We will move once more before we are done but hopefully it will be in a house we buy. Since we have never been to Arizona before we are going to rent when we first get out there, figure out where we want to live and then settle down. :-)

So our May kits are now sold out. I hope you had a chance to purchase one for yourself. We will have month of inspiration starting May 1, our new DT will be joining us and I am super excited to get started. We truly have had the best team members over the last year and a half. Super talented and super sweet and I am happy to call all of them my friends. :-)

Today I have a LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Julie created using our April scrapbook kit.

 JULIE

Oh that sweet sweet Brookie - can't wait to meet her.  98 more days until I  am driving across the country.  :-)  Julie's LO is super sweet and the title totally fits Ms. Brookie!!  She is probably the most stylish little girl I know.  :-)

That's all for today.  I will see you back here tomorrow for another amazing project.  Have a fabulous day!!

April sketch challenge winner - ASC#19

Good Morning, Happy Tuesday, and Happy Birthday to my boyfriend, Tony. :-) We went out to a nice Mexican dinner last night to celebrate Nicki and Tony's birthday. It is the restaurant we have been going to for each of our birthdays for at least the last 2 years. They had a small fire at the restaurant a couple months back, they fixed it up and reopened. I think since they reopened they have more business. It is really nice in there now. :-)  We had a very lovely evening.  And last night was my last class of the Spring semester.  I officially have the next 3 weeks or so off.  I think I might have to get crafty.  I have a ton of new Paper Smooches stamps and a fabulous new May kit to play with.

Nicki also got the best birthday present ever, except being able to spend it with her loving, wonderful family (lol), she found out in 3 weeks she will get her braces off.  She couldn't have been happier.  And momma couldn't be happier that once a month I don't have to drive 2 hours for a 5 minute ortho appt.  LOL!!

So I have the winner to announce for our April sketch challenge.  :-)

The winner is entry #8.......Yvonne from Do More With Less......

YAY, Yvonne.  Congratulations!!  Please contact me so I can get your package in the mail.  :-)

That's all for today.  I have some graduation invites to make today for my friend at school.  We are both graduating but I won't be attending graduation.  I have a lot to take care of over the next couple months and any free time I have I need to be productive.  LOL!!

Be sure to stop by tomorrow for our May card and scrapbook kit reveal.  I have had several new subscribers in the last week or so and so our May kits are selling fast - almost sold out.  If you are interested in a kit, please email me right away before they sell out.

You Are My Sunshine

Good morning my friends. This month has been a bit crazy. I haven't had as many posts for this month as I would have liked to but that's ok, right. :-) Yesterday was bitter sweet and a bit strange. Next week should have been my last week of classes but in most of my classes we were done, done with the book, done with all the work, so most of my professors decided to not come next week. We were given our last test (they are always take home) and asked that they are returned next week. Well last night was my last official day to be with a lot of the ladies in the my class. For the last 2 years or so we have all been in the same classes. We for the most part became friends. We have all been doing the same thing for the last 2 years, 4 days a week we were together at school. So it was a bitter sweet day because we won't see each other again, what we have been doing for 2 years has come to an end. With that said I have unofficially graduated. LOL!! I say unofficial because I still have to take two classes this Summer but they are not Accounting related at all.  I don't want to forget everything I have learned and it may be 6-12 months before I am able to take more classes but I am happy to not have to "text book learn" any Accounting for a while.

I am excited for the week to be over, I am excited for this semester to be mostly over and I am also excited because tomorrow I am volunteering with a friend  at Habitat for Humanity.  Tony and I have always talked about wanting to do it so when my friend said she was going this weekend I totally jumped on it.  I felt bad Tony and I weren't able to volunteer together but now that I know how to sign up to help we  will be doing it again before we move.  I also got my daughter interested in going with me one time.  :-)

So anywho, today I DO have a project to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Kelly, created using our April scrapbook kit

KELLY

I love all the detail on this LO and those adorable photos.  For more details about this LO please visit Kelly's blog.  :-)

Don't forget to play along with this month's sketch challenge.  Link up your project (in the sidebar) by April 23rd for your chance to win our May scrapbook kit.  :-)

Well I  am off to do, probably not a whole lot, for the rest of the day.  I have a busy weekend ahead after having a busy week, I am going to enjoy my one day with nothing to do, well maybe pack and some cleaning but at least  I am at home.  :-)

April 17, 2012

Happy Tuesday and a winner!

Good Morning my friends!!!! I don't have anything crafty for you today but I wanted to announce the winner of our recent giveaway. I also wanted to post an update and some info about our monthly kits.

First is kind of a disclosure. Artful Delight is able to offer amazing kits at amazing prices because all the money is put towards product. What I mean is I try not to use fancy packaging or anything like that. I try to keep any extra costs to a minimum so I can pack as much as I can in to the kits. Our kits are shipped in Priority Mail boxes unless I am shipping international.

Next, all product included in the kits are "while supplies last." If for some reason I run out of a certain product I will replace it with something of equal value. It might be extra of something already included in the kit or something else I found matched the kit. This doesn't happen often but it has happened. The kits will always be valued the same.

Third, CARD KIT prices will increase a little bit starting in May. Any current subscribers will not be affected by this price increase for the remainder of their subscription. Our card kits and scrapbook kits will be priced the same. For the past couple months the card kits retail value is the same as the scrapbook kits so I thought they should be priced the same way. This will allow me to offer a single monthly purchase price and a 3 month and 6 month subscription price. The prices are as follows:

Single month purchase $32.50
3 month subscription $30.50
6 month subscription $27.50

Shipping charges will be a bit less for card kits though, $5.50. I think this is still a super fantastic price - all the papers, embellishments, adhesive, AND a full sized stamp set - Retail value is usually around $15.

Finally, with my upcoming move, I will only be ordering a very few extra kits above the kits for subscribers. I may only have one or two extra and depending on how many subscribers I have during a month I may not have any extra kits to be purchased as a single purchase. There are several reasons for this. One is whatever is not sold has to be packed and I am so restricted to how many boxes I can have, I don't want there to be a ton of boxes of "inventory." Also I will traveling for about a week and won't have access to my craft stuff. I won't be able ship anything out anyway.
So with that said here are the benefits of subscribing.
  • You are guaranteed a kit every month during your subscription period
  • You will receive a discount price based on how many months you subscribe
  • PLUS there is no obligation - there are NO automatic deductions from your account - you will be sent a monthly invoice on the 25th of the month (the day of the kit reveal here on our blog) and if you want to skip that month or something you can just send me an email
  • You can ultimately cancel at any time - I would just ask that you give me as much notice as you can that you need to cancel but there is no penalty

I know "subscribing" sounds like a big commitment but really it isn't. There is absolutely no obligation. You may ask, "what is the point of subscribing then" - well it is mainly to give me an idea of how many kits I should order. Being a small company I just can't afford to order a ton of kits and be left with overstock for any extended periods of time. But at the same time I want to make sure everyone that may want a kit gets one.

So if you would like to subscribe, please send me an email - at this time your subscription would start with the May kit and you will not be billed anything until April 25th (edited to correct date).

Also, within the next couple days I will have a ton of Paper Smooches stamp sets for sale. They will be priced about 33% off retail.

Ok, ok now for the winner of our recent giveaway!!! Thank you to random.org - the winner is comment #13......

What a fun question. We are military so I've moved MANY times. Over the last 15 years I've moved a whopping total of 13 times! Which includes the house we just closed on last week ;) Hopefully this is our LAST stop! Thanks for a chance to win!

Congratulations!!! Please send me an email within 72 hours to claim your prize/provide snail mail. :-)

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Sunshine You Make Me Happy

Hap-Hap Happy Monday!! I officially have 2 weeks left of Spring semester and I couldn't be happier. It is supposed to be like 87 degrees today, I am thinking I might have to kick on the air for a bit today. LOL!! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty tiring. I had to work yesterday morning at 4am. I had the hardest time falling asleep Saturday night so I am thinking I may have only gotten like 4 hours of sleep. I worked for 5 hours, climbing ladders and cleaning displays and running from the front of the store to the back of the store and up a ladder down and ladder this side of the store to that side of the store......needless to say not only do I feel really tired from lack of sleep but my body aches a bit. LOL!! After my 5 hours of work I came home to hang with my kids and then had to be BACK at work to work 2-6. Let's just say I am glad my weekend is over.

Ya know what I am also excited about? Next month's kit....It is going to be awesome.

And ya know what else I am excited about? Being able to share with you today's super awesome LO that our Delightful Designer, Julie, created using our April scrapbook kit.

JULIE
Beautiful little Brookie, she is such a doll. Julie's LO is fabulous, love that "Sunshine" chipboard and all the detail.

Thanks so much for stopping by, don't forget to play along with this month's sketch challenge and also to enter my giveaway that ends tonight. Link up your project for the sketch challenge in the sidebar by April 23rd for your chance to win our May monthly kit. :-)

Happy Saturday (giveaway)

Good Morning!! I am super happy this morning. I may some solid job leads when I move. I should most definitely be able to transfer to a Michaels near where I will live. I also got in touch with an Accountant temp agency and the hiring manager wants to interview me and help me get a job. Now to just get Tony a job and we will be in REALLY good shape. :-)

But since I am in full pack mode now, I need to organize, consolidate, and reduce my craft stuff. I have a ton of "extra" stuff from past kits. I also found a box or two filled with partially used 6x6 pads, collection packs and other goodies.

So let's get rid of some of this stuff. I have another random box of goodies to get rid of.

Ya know I was completing my daughter's registration paper work for school and it asked me to list ALL her previous schools she attended. WOW what a task. I never realized how many times we have moved over the years until I had to write it down. She is in 9th grade and just going back to about 4th or 5th grade I think I had 6 schools listed for her and I know there is at least 3-4 more schools going back to kindergarten. I am so ready to settle down. LOL!!

So with that said, leave me a comment and let me know how many times you have moved over the years - go back say 15 years and see if you can count how many times you moved. LOL!! It is not required to answer this question to be entered for the giveaway, just trying to make this fun. You can just leave me a comment and say "hi" too. :-)

Well I am off to get ready for work, then a little shopping at Costco, home to play with my kids and a yummy homemade pizza dinner and some family time. :-) I am expecting it to be a good day. :-)

If you get a chance, play along with this month's sketch challenge. Upload your project in the sidebar for your chance to win our May scrapbook kit. You have until April 23rd to enter. :-)

Oh and the giveaway will end Monday night at midnight EST.

Bubble Love

Good Morning! Happy Friday. Ok, so I am getting really nervous now. Things are starting to fall in to place with our move. I am glad I made the calls that I did yesterday because we plan on putting our kids in a charter school out in Arizona and the one we want to send our kids to is almost filled for next year. We have to register them today for school. AND we have to be there by the beginning of the school year in order for them to be able to go there. Which means instead of moving at the end of Aug, we have to move the end of July. We have roughly 3 months to prepare. YIKES!!!! Tony and I will graduate on August 1st. We will have to be on the road to Arizona no later that August 2nd. I think I might be crazy!! But y'all might have known that already.

Anywho, today I have a super cute LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Kelly created using our April monthly kit.

Love those photos, super cute LO!!! For more details about this LO please visit Kelly's blog. :-)

That's all for today.

Anywho, this week we are sponsoring over at Sketch Inspiration. If you play along you will have a chance to win our SOLD OUT April scrapbook kit. My DT was able to play along with the sketch too.

Our new Design Team

Hello my friends. Today we will be revealing our new Design Team for our May-Oct term. This is probably my least favorite part of this whole adventure......choosing just 4 talented ladies out of a long list of amazing crafters. I think we had double the submissions this time as last time so our choice was just that much more difficult. The good news is we will have another DT call in September. :-)

Alright well let's introduce the new team......

CARD TEAM
I'm a graphic designer by trade, wife, mama to two energetic young boys, and always a crafter at heart. I like to expand my boundaries by experimenting and showcasing the capabilities of each stamp set I pick up. I'm quite fond of the clean and simple design style, which you can see on my blog The Bald Dragonfly. I'm lucky to have the title of stamp illustrator as well! I'm really looking forward to inspiring you with projects I created from the beautiful kits at Artful Delight!

My name is Erin and I'm a card making junkie. I love
that I have found a whole wonderful
community of like minded people! I live in Northern California
with my husband and 2 little
boys and run a small motel called the Outside Inn.

My name is Missy Whidden. I am 36, and I’ve been married to Marshall for 12 years. We’ve been together for almost 18! We have two beautiful little girls. Reese is five and Paige is three. They are the light of our lives! We live in a small town called Frostproof, Florida. I’m a stay-at-home mom, and I am also a Spinning instructor at our YMCA. When I’m not scrapping, I love exercising, reading and doing fun things with my family. I started scrapping in the summer of 2006, just before Reese was born. I helped my mother-in-law put together a baby book for my husband, and I was instantly hooked! I love the creativity that comes with scrapping. I love patterned paper, inks, mists and bright colors. I can’t really describe my style…I like to try everything! I love letting my photos be the center of the page, and I almost always use them as my inspiration. I love working with sketches and challenges. I’m so excited to be a part of the Artful Delight Team! Thank you so much for having me!

Marcia from One Scrap at a Time

Hi, I am Marcia Dehn-Nix and I am so excited to be a part of the Artful Delight design team! I am married to the most wonderful guy (28 years!) and we live in Minnesota. We have three kids; Naomi (22), Colette (20), and Trenton (17). The oldest 2 are away at college and my son will be joining them next Fall. I have been scrapbooking for over 10 years. My scrapbooking evolved out of a love for photography. In fact, I used to be a wedding photographer! I did all the portrait sittings of my own kids at home. This made for some fun times when I hauled in sand or fake snow! I also love to make cards, and knit, and sew. I do have a 9-5 job working as a senior software engineer creating software for electrical utilities. The senior just means I am old. I celebrated 25 years with the company last summer. My creative side helps to balance the technical geeky side of me.

They will start sharing their projects with us in May. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I am headed to the park with my family. :-)

Say What?!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!! Oh my what a week it has been. I think this is the longest I have gone without posting. Well for starters I got the kit out to my DT a bit late so that is why we didn't have projects to share with you all week. I have picked up more hours at work so I have had no opportunity to craft, well other than to finish those 36 cards I sold. I know it seems to be taking forever but I hope to have them finished this morning! Oh and I have also been busy going through all the submissions for our DT call.

BUT, today I have a super cute LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Kelly created using our April scrapbook kit. Now all the kits have sold out but I still hope we can provide you with a ton of inspiration this month.

Look at that adorable face!! And the LO is fabulous!!! Love al the detail. For more details about this LO please visit Kelly's blog.

Don't forget the sketch challenge is posted and you have until April 23rd to submit you project for your chance to win our May scrapbook kit. Upload your project in the sidebar.

All previous kits have sold out EXCEPT our February kit. It has been discounted so you will get a super deal for a super kit. Check it out.
