Caffeine is my friend today

Good Morning and what a happy happy day!!! IT IS MOVING DAY!! YAY!!!!! I couldn't sleep even though I went to bed pretty late. Up early, coffee in hand, typing a quick post before I start my day. Post this week will go up as normal, Debbie will be holding down the fort while I am on the road. :-)

Grumpy

TGIF my friends!!! Also HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY to my lil man Tony!!! My lil man will be starting kindergarten in 10 days. I just can't believe it. I am tearing up just thinking about it.  LOL!

So I am beginning to rethink our travel plans. The way I have it planned now is we will drive approximately 415 miles a day which (at the speed Tony drives) will be about 6-7 hours of driving. With a total of about an hour stop during the day that still only leaves us on the road for 8-9 hours. Although that sounds like a long day, if we leave at 8am that will get us to our next stop by 5pm. Does that sound reasonable? It probably is, right? Especially with 4 kids and 2 dogs, they are going to want to stop frequently. I just feel we could push more miles in a day and get to Maricopa sooner. But since I have everything planned just right, I should just leave it. LOL!!

I did buy myself a Fujifilm Instax Mini camera yesterday. I am hoping with a little Dramamine I will not get car sick and I can maybe scrapbook our adventure along the way. More like Smash book but I will make my own. I bought (2) 6x6 canvas chipboard mini albums from LYB. I put the two together because I felt I needed more pages. Then with my insta camera I can smash the pictures as I take them. :-) Keep me busy in the car. I will put together some scrapbook supplies that I can work with on the road.   Maybe the Dramamine will allow me to knit or something too. Although I will not need warm hats and scarves in the desert, I still have family and friends in the cold weathered states and Christmas is coming. LOL!!

Alright well let's get to the crafty project for the day.  Today's LO was created by our Delightful Designer, Debbie, using our July scrapbook kit.  :-)

DEBBIE
Love it!! Love the color combo and all the layers and detail!!  Fabulous!!

Ya know what I am excited about once I get to Arizona, I FINALLY get to meet Julie from Life with the Tucker-Wolek clan.   How lucky am I?   She invited me to one of her monthly scrapbooking get-together with her friends.  I cannot wait!!!  :-)

Alright well I have to work this afternoon and also both Saturday and Sunday so I need to utilize my time wisely and get my house in order for our big day on Monday.  Happy Friday my friends, have a wonderful day!

Good Times

Good morning and happy Tuesday!! I am excited to say that in one week from today, my family and I will be heading to Arizona. I am just speechless because so many thoughts and feelings are going through my head. I am excited to finally be doing this. Tony and I have been planning this for 2 years. Busting our butts through school and saving our money, it seems a bit surreal that it is finally happening. I am nervous because we still haven't gotten jobs. I do feel at ease though because when I told Tony the other day that part of my stress is stressing that he is stressing we don't have jobs. He said he feels confident that when we get to Arizona and he can actually walk in to a place and present his resume and have just a second to talk to someone that he will get a job. LOL!! AND then I feel a bit of sadness leaving the friends I made. I met some really great people at work and at school. They will be missed.

So we went to eat at our favorite restaurant last night. We are down to the last week so we don't have much food left in the house and we don't want to shop. Plus we wanted to eat one last time at our restaurant.  A couple months back they had a fire in the basement, we were happy to find out it didn't completely destroy the place and that they were able to fix up the place and reopen.  We have eaten there every birthday for the last 2 years; so that's at least 6 times a year.  LOL!  Last night we asked our server to take a picture of us in front of the place.

And yesterday my daughters and I got haircuts.  This would have been Isabel's first haircut.  She just turned 4 and her curly locks (although you would never know because it curls up so much) are almost down to her butt.  But when it curls up it falls right below her shoulders.  We only have about an inch cut off but since Nicki and I were getting ours cut I thought we should do hers too.  Now for me.  I wish I would have taken before and after pictures but I had probably 8-10 inches cut off.  It had gotten so long that I almost always had it up in a bun.  So when I took it out and the hair stylist saw it I think her jaw dropped, she said "where did all that come from"  lol!!   I love my new do though.  You can see it a bit in the picture.  It comes over my shoulders a bit.  Before it was down to my butt, super long, super heavy, and super unmanageable.  I do however have pics of my daughter getting her hair cut.

Alright well, now I want to share with you a LO that Missy created using our July scrapbook kit.  :-)

 MARCIA

Ok, so the job prospect for Tony didn't pan out.  I am a bit stressed now.  If any of my readers live in Arizona (Phoenix area) and know of any management positions that are open (restaurants or grocery stores) please let me know.  Tony has a solid resume but I feel we are both at a disadvantage since we aren't out there.  We will be out there in 2 weeks and I would really like to have jobs.  :-)

You are my sunshine - Tutorial

TGIF!!!!  So excited the weekend is here.  I don't work today or Sunday and I only have to work a couple hours on Saturday in the morning.  Tony has off tomorrow so I think we are going to celebrate my daughters birthday.  I have the pleasure of celebrating two birthdays this month. My sweet daughter Isabel will turn 4 on the 17th and my handsome son Tony will turn 5 on the 27th.  I don't think a day goes by that I don't think to myself how much I LOVE my children.  They bring such joy to my life and I couldn't imagine my life without my kids.

I am so excited to be able to share with you a tutorial today.  Our Delightful Designer, Karen, has a very inspiring tutorial to share with you.

Here is Karen's tutorial:

Ever wonder what to do with those itty bitty stamps included in sets? Try reaching outside the box and use them by themselves to create cool and funky backgrounds through multiple stamping! Let me quickly show you two ways on how to do this, both creating a huge impact! My cards today feature the stamps from Lawn Fawn's Sunny Skies, the really fun and versatile set included in this month's card kit!
The first way to use the small stamps to create a background is stamping them in some sort of pattern. Start by arranging the stamps in a pleasing arrangement onto your block, in this instance I placed the small kite bow tie just a smidge under and to the right of the large bow tie. Ink up your stamp and stamp onto the paper, in this case it is the fun coral solid cardstock from this month's kit. You'll want to re-ink your stamps for each impression, but be careful not to re-arrange your stamps until your card base has been completely stamped!

Stamp again, either to the left or right, top or bottom of your first impression. You will see your pattern develop, and each impression thereafter, stamp to follow your general pattern. I wasn't very precise with the stamping on this card, but if you wanted to, you could create light guidelines with a pencil and then erase after stamping.

Once your stamping has been completed, you can end up with a completely different look then what your stamps were meant to be for! In this case, I created a modern and trendy pattern reminiscent of a textile pattern. I added a touch of color with marker and finished the card with a sentiment and the sun, all from this month's kit.

The second way to use small stamps to create a new background is to stamp one image in a random fashion, alternating the position of the stamp as  you go, onto your card stock (the lovely yellow paper is from this month's kit too!). I find that keeping to one ink color on most of your outlined images help create solidified background pattern better than using multiple colors. To finish this card, I added a touch of monochromatic shading with a marker, and added a banner and sentiment from two other Lawn Fawn sets.

I hope that you are inspired to take a closer look at the small stamps included in your sets and create a cool, new, and totally unique background!

Thanks Karen for that awesome tutorial.  I can't wait to get to craft  again because I will certainly be trying that technique!!

Enjoy The Ride

Good Morning! I have a super cute LO to share with you today! Our Delightful Designer, Debbie, created this fabulous LO!

 DEBBIE

Love all the layers.  I cannot wait to move.  I am at the point where I haven't crafted in about 3 months and it's killing me.  LOL!!  I will have my own craft room at the new house and I CANNOT wait to set up my space.  :-)

Don't forget to play along with this month's sketch challenge.  You have two sketches to play with which means two chances to win.  Upload your project by July 23rd for your chance to win.

Also we will be having our August kit reveal a little early this month.  I am planning on revealing the kit on Thursday, July 19th.  Be sure to check it out, this kit is amazing.  Also kits will be shipping sooner than the 1st as well.  You will still be able to place orders while I am on the road and they will have a 2-3 business day processing time.

Reach For The Sky

Good Morning!! YAY, for the week being almost over. I hope you aren't tired of my count down to my move.....we are now officially less than 3 weeks away. I am trying to get all my ducks in a row and have everything done that I can take care of. I have most of my utilities scheduled to be turned on. I have the movers set, I need to schedule the pick up to have our second car transported across the country. We realized that it would be cheaper to pay a company to transport our second vehicle then to have Tony take the time off work, drive it across country and then have to fly back. Plus we don't put all the added miles on the car. I also have lists written of all the stuff that needs to be fixed and cleaned before we leave. Do you ever just feel like if you don't have a set plan (written/typed on paper) that you can't put your mind at ease because you just keep thinking about how you are going to get everything done? That's how I feel.

If you are a kit subscriber or plan on purchasing our August kit I have high hopes that I will have everything together early so I can ship early.  From the 25th to the 1st of each month is usually pretty crazy in my house trying to get all the kits together and shipped,  well at that time this month will be pretty busy getting the final touches to my move all to come together.

Ok, so today is Erin day to share her projects here on our blog so let's get to it.  Check out these totally awesome projects!!

I really love the embossing on this card....Is that a Tim Holtz embossing folder??  This card and tag are just so bright and cheerful!!  Awesome projects!!  :-)

Well today is my day off and since I got the go ahead from my computer class Professor to work ahead I am actually going to work so far ahead that I should finish the class.  Then I can focus on my last few projects for my speech class. My plan  is to  finish early.  :-)

Have a wonderful day, see you back here tomorrow with some more inspiration!!  :-)

Feelin The Flowers

Good Morning!!  Today I have an awesome LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Missy, created using our July scrapbook kit.  :-)

MISSY
I love all the detail, the stitching on the flower stems, the distressed edges, and the fussy cutting on the pink flowers.  She used the flower stamp in the Prima stamp set (included in the kit) to make those adorable flowers!!  LOVE it.

There are still some July kits left, click here if you would like to pick one up.
