Good Morning my friends!! I hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend. I can't wait until tomorrow because we are supposed to have temps in the upper 80's. I am going to assume we are just going to bypass Spring. It is either unseasonably cold or really warm. I guess I will take it and have to get used to it if I am going to move to Arizona. Which I am TOTALLY excited about. :-)
So today I am just going to share with you the card I made for the blog hop. I didn't really go in to detail about the card and I have had a bunch of comments and questions about it.
So today I am just going to share with you the card I made for the blog hop. I didn't really go in to detail about the card and I have had a bunch of comments and questions about it.
When I was asked to be a part of the blog hop I guess it was about a month ago, and I was told the theme I immediately thought of this stamp that I have seen around the blogosphere but I could not for the life of me remember where I had seen it. I had a couple of stamp companies in mind that I thought sold it so I started my search.
The lady in the bathtub is a stamp from My Favorite Things. I bought the stamp set and held on to it until I was able to get some time to craft. LOL! Which ended up being the day before the hop started. YIKES.
Anywho, the stamp actually has like a mirror image that is supposed to go where the window is but I thought about the cute cloud pattern paper that is in April's monthly kit and thought it would be much cuter to make a window than use the mirror part of the stamp.
I purchased an SVG file from SVGcuts.com that has a bunch of different window shapes. As much as I would love to purchase Cricut cartridges (I am dying to get the Create a Critter cart) I just can't afford actual cartridges so I buy individual SVG files as I need them or create my own in Inkscape.
So I cut the window shape with the Cricut and adhered it together and applied Glossy Accents to make it have more of a window effect. I stamped the bathtub image and cut the tub and legs out. Then I stamped the rug on the daisy pattern paper also included in the kit and I cut it out. I bought a textured white cardstock from my LSS to use for the "floor". I was going to try and make a faux tile look but I decided to just use textured paper. I used some liquid pearls, that I also picked up at my LSS, for the bubbles.
I then stamped the wine glass and cut it out and adhered it to the card. I was going to be funny and stamp (and cut out) several wine bottles and scatter them on the "floor" but I didn't think it would look right and then I wouldn't have room for the sentiment. I am pretty sure if I had an afternoon alone to take a LONG bath I would need a little more than one small glass of wine to get me in a relaxed mood. LOL!
I also stamped the inside with the "Pamper Yourself" sentiment that comes with the set. The brown cardstock is supposed to be the "baseboard" in the bathroom. I finished the card with some Peapod twine from The Twinery, also included in this month's kit.
I probably could have done some sort of tutorial for this card but I am a bit camera shy. In the fall I have to take a Intro to Public Speaking class which is online so I will be doing a lot of recording of speeches. Maybe I will become a little more comfortable in front of a camera. LOL! I would love to start doing some video tutorials.
Well that's all for now, I guess a couple days away from my blog and I become a little chatty.
I will see y'all in the morning with the winner of the blog hop giveaway and hopefully I will get to craft today and have something to share.
Have a fabulous Sunday!! Oh and there is only one April kit left, so if you were wanting to purchase one you should grab it up before it sells out. :-)
Happy Crafting!!
I have that MFT set too...I never thought to create a window! I like this idea very much! I made a "mirror" using oval die cuts and silver mirror paper.
