Anywho, I used May's kit to make this project and I really like the way it turned out. I will first give credit where it is due and I found the candy holder from Handmade from my heart and I found the flower pot idea from May Arts blog.
I really wanted to use Echo Park's Summer Days collection and other products from Artful Delight's May kit.
***EDIT: Took new pictures, what a world of difference a little sunlight will do****
I am totally not happy with the photos but not only is it rainy and gloomy here but I can't find the cord to my camera to upload the good pics I took. So sorry.
I really like the way this turned out and the gloomy faded pictures don't do it justice.
The original flowers from May Arts blog used some ribbon for the leaves but I didn't have any so I used twine. Also one on May Arts blog used wooden dowel rods for the stem but I used pencils and I covered them with the twine. That way they can be functional. They certainly wouldn't be a daily pencil but something she could grab if she needed to write something down real quick. The flowers are SVG files that I bought from My Grafico. The "#1 Teacher" was cut with my Cricut and the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. The box is filled with Hershey's chocolate nuggets. And the teacher's name is spelled using the alpha stickers from the Summer Days collection kit which was included in Artful Delight's May kit. (sold out)
The green leaf attached to one of the flowers says "Thanks for helping me grow this year." (which was also scrap lifted from the May Arts blog flower pot)
I used a pot that I bought from Michaels for 0.99 and filled with some glass balls to hold the pencils in place. I used some of the stickers from the Summer Days collection to decorate the pot.
I really hope she likes it!!
Well that's all I have for today, be sure to stop by tomorrow, I will have a project to share from my DT using Artful Delight's June kit.
Happy Crafting!!
What a really cute project! I think I'd love it if I were a teacher. My youngest son has the best speech therapist too. For a small school district we are lucky that she is there, she's helped him a lot.
