Hello my friends. So I finally finished those baby shower invites. Wahoooooo!!!! I feel so relieved to be done. I was asked to make some baby shower invites for one of Tony's friends. Last year I made bridal shower invites for that same friend (she hosts a lot of showers) and she loved them so much she came back for more. She wanted a fall theme and didn't want me to use much blue. Yikes, I was a little intimidated by the challenge but I had some Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection and I thought it would go perfect. It actually reminded me of a baby quilt. It had some pinks and blues and neutrals.
Then I used a stamp from The Cutietoots (thank you Julie for finding that for me) and I wanted to try my hand at using Copics. What was I thinking??? LOL!! 25 baby shower invites=25 pumpkin images to color. I had fun coloring the first 5 or so and then it became a chore and not much fun anymore.
I did greatly enjoy making these invites. So on top of my kids, school and work I managed to make 25-6x6 in invites with matching envelopes.
The first picture I took a week ago, this was my first card. The wood grain behind the image I stamped using my wood grain stamp and then I used my Spellbinders circle die to cut it.
I wanted to just use vellum and stamp the sentiment on there but I was using Stazon ink and it just bled in to the vellum. Didn't have time to try another ink so what I did was just bought some acetate and stamped the image on there and then used the vellum behind it to fade out the patten paper a bit and make the sentiment a little more bold. The inside of the card was left for all the baby shower info.
I found this great 7.5x7.5 inch box from Michaels to put all the invites in to. I did a little decoration on the cover. I used some lacy ribbon from the September kit and then topped with the handmade pumpkin that Debbie made for the kit to top off the package. Sorry the image above is a bit blurry, it is rainy and gloomy today and I couldn't get a good pic.
I didn't crop out part of my work area to show you what my space looked like when I was done. LOL! And that was just from this morning. I am so happy to be done with those and I really hope she likes them.
Well that's all for today. Stop by tomorrow for more inspiration from our Delightful Designers, using October monthly kit. :-)
