So I am beginning to rethink our travel plans. The way I have it planned now is we will drive approximately 415 miles a day which (at the speed Tony drives) will be about 6-7 hours of driving. With a total of about an hour stop during the day that still only leaves us on the road for 8-9 hours. Although that sounds like a long day, if we leave at 8am that will get us to our next stop by 5pm. Does that sound reasonable? It probably is, right? Especially with 4 kids and 2 dogs, they are going to want to stop frequently. I just feel we could push more miles in a day and get to Maricopa sooner. But since I have everything planned just right, I should just leave it. LOL!!
I did buy myself a Fujifilm Instax Mini camera yesterday. I am hoping with a little Dramamine I will not get car sick and I can maybe scrapbook our adventure along the way. More like Smash book but I will make my own. I bought (2) 6x6 canvas chipboard mini albums from LYB. I put the two together because I felt I needed more pages. Then with my insta camera I can smash the pictures as I take them. :-) Keep me busy in the car. I will put together some scrapbook supplies that I can work with on the road. Maybe the Dramamine will allow me to knit or something too. Although I will not need warm hats and scarves in the desert, I still have family and friends in the cold weathered states and Christmas is coming. LOL!!
Alright well let's get to the crafty project for the day. Today's LO was created by our Delightful Designer, Debbie, using our July scrapbook kit. :-)

Ya know what I am excited about once I get to Arizona, I FINALLY get to meet Julie from Life with the Tucker-Wolek clan. How lucky am I? She invited me to one of her monthly scrapbooking get-together with her friends. I cannot wait!!! :-)
Alright well I have to work this afternoon and also both Saturday and Sunday so I need to utilize my time wisely and get my house in order for our big day on Monday. Happy Friday my friends, have a wonderful day!
Happy birthday to your baby!! And hehehehehehe once you learn one secret about me (I'll tell ya when you get here! lol!!) ... you will know that when I road travel... I have to stop frequently!! LOL!! People are gonna read this comment and think I have a bladder problem... lol!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw Debbie's lo on her blog this morning... I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it!!!!
Sounds like a good amount of driving per day to me. My Dad who in his late 70s' still drives 12 hour days on trips would think it wasn't enough. You have to do what is best for your family.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Tony and YAY for meeting Julie!!! How lucky are you!?! I hope we get to meet someday too!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your little man! We drive 18 hours straight to NC with two little boys (only stopping for gas which is also a potty break) it gets pretty intense sometimes. Great layout from Debbie, and thanks for changing the days this week!
ReplyDeleteWow! Hats off and good luck for your plan. We just drove for 3 hours to get to our vacation destination and this was the absolute maximum (little man is 7 months and big sister 6 years) So glad your big day is finally close
ReplyDeleteBig hugs!
