Great news!!

Hello my friends. Today I have some super fun and exciting news to share. :-) First, our Delightful Designer Debbie's role will be changing with Artful Delight. Debbie will be more behind the scenes. She will help with kits and other team activities. She will still design each month but not as much.

Sooooo, with that said it is with GREAT pleasure to announce our newest DT member. We decided that we needed to "replace" Debbie with another scrapper so we made an early decision on one of the spots for our new DT term. We chose our new member from all the applicants for the recent DT call.

Ok, ok I won't make you wait any longer. I am sure many of you already follower our newest member but if not be sure to do so.

JULIE from Life with the Tucker and Wolek clan will be joining the team (a little early) :-)

My name is Julie Tucker-Wolek, and out in the cyber world, I am known as the SMILEY girl as I leave a lot of SMILES everywhere I visit! :):):):):):) I have been scrapbooking for almost 14 years when my son was born, but really got 'serious' about 5 years ago! :) I don't really think I have a style, I can be clean and simple, to all over the place, I feel that my style is ever changing, and I am okay with that as I am never afraid to try new things! :):):):):):):):)
Blog - http://thetuckerwolekclan.blogspot.com/

Julie's is very talented and her blog is filled with amazing inspiration. In addition she is so cheerful and an amazing person. :-) So glad to have met her and I feel so special to have her on the team!!

Please be sure to stop by Julie's blog and welcome her to the team!!!! I will be sending out emails to all the applicants over the next week or so. You will receive an email whether you have made the team or not.

Rudbeckia LO

Oh happy Friday! Wow that was the longest 4 days in my life. Every night since Monday I was in class. Last night was the most painful. This Math class I have to take is a refresher of a variety of Math. I think the only thing I don't remember much about is Statistics. But I am a fast learner. This next 16 weeks is going to be long!!

Anywho, did y'all see my video yesterday showing you most of the products that will be in September's monthly kit? If not, click here.

Today I have a fabulous LO to share with you that DT member Debbie created using AUGUST monthly kit. There are still a few left, click here if you would like to purchase one.

Debbie

Fabulous!! For more details about this LO, please visit Debbie's blog.

Well that's all for today. I am going to try and get caught up on homework, housework, and most importantly quality time with my kids over the next 3 days.

September monthly kit reveal

Oh my it's been one of those days. Nothing seems to be going right. Tony and I have barely seen each other all week. Our school schedules and his work schedule have just completely messed with any family time. I realized on Monday that we won't be able to do our family movie night anymore. I am BUMMED. We did it Thursday and Friday night. But I have class until 10pm on Thursdays and since Tony has class Friday morning he has to work the closing shift. UGH!!!

Today is the 25th and I have been trying to get this post made all morning. I have been wanting to start filming videos, not only of projects I make but also monthly videos of the kit reveal. You can't really get a good idea of what is included by just a picture so what better way to share the kit with you than in a video.

Here's the problem, 3 lil kids. LOL! I tried filming the video 3-4 times and was interrupted each time. By the 4th time I just didn't care anymore. LOL! I just want the video darn it. So I am going to include the video in this post, in its unedited form. haha!! I just don't think I have the patience to edit it and darn it I filmed it so many times, I am going to include it. LOL! I just have to keep laughing about this whole day because otherwise I might lose my mind. I have to leave for class at 4:30pm and I haven't even cracked open a book and read or done homework and dinner probably won't be done before I leave and I have laundry to do and dishes to do and .......AHHHHHHHhhhh! LOL! Calgon take me away!!!! LOL!!!

But let's have fun now shall we!!! I have some pictures of the September kit and a video to share with you. :-)

The picture I am going to share is only the scrapbook kit. I don't have a pic of the card kit but in the video I explain what items will be in each. I will also list below what items will be in the kit. So first let's share the picture.

Ok, so that's it. My oh my, stinks that something fun should have ended up being so stressful. It just seemed nothing went my way. As I was typing this I was trying to upload the video in YouTube and it was giving me quite the pain. Ugh. I hope next video I film will go a little more smoothly.

Just a reminder, my video is unedited. I didn't have it left in me to make it all pretty. So I apologize if it is a bit long. LOL!!!

The official kit list will be listed on my blog and in the Artful Delight store on September 1st. Just in case I typed something wrong or forgot something.

Oh and if anyone has any suggestions for good (cheap) video editing software, I am open to suggestions. I found one that is free for a limited time, I guess like a trial period. I need an easy video editing software/program.

I hope yo enjoy and if you would like to pre-order a kit please email. leeanne@artfuldelight.com

It's coming....

Today is the 25th so that means monthly kit reveal day. I am trying to record a video but my battery died. I am charging it now and will be back later with the reveal. If I can't get a video then I will most certainly have some pics and list of items. Be back later! :-)

Winner

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday. My 1st born starts high school today. WOW!! I feel old. Out of all the girls I remained in touch with from high school there are only 2 others that have kids in high school. I feel old!! All my other friends are just starting their families. LOL!!

Well today I have the winner of this month's sketch challenge to announce. Thank you all who entered. We had a great turn out this month. We only had 25 entries but that was more than we have had in the past that means the word it getting out about our challenge. YIPPEEE!!!

And the winner is.......
#16 Carissa from Happily Ever Paper Crafter

I will send Carissa an email when I get home from taking my daughter to school. Also I wanted to mention that the DT call has ended. We had an awesome amount of interest and I am going to be making a decision over the next couple weeks. I will be in touch with everyone that has applied whether you make the team or not.

I would like to say that this is REALLY a tough choice to make, there were a ton of amazing applicants but I can only chose so many. So, if you don't make the team this time I STRONGLY encourage you to apply the next time.

I leave you now with a beautiful picture of my daughter!

Family

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

Today is my first day of school. I also have an unofficial job interview this morning. The reason it's unofficial is because it's for a tax preparation company and so I wouldn't be working until next tax season. The problem is the company is offering free tax classes but the classes conflict with my classes. I am, however, taking a Federal Taxation class this fall but I don't know if the information I am going to learn will help me pass this companies tax exam in order to get the job. The manager I talked to yesterday told me to come down and bring my book so he can see if I would learn enough in my class to pass the test. If my book isn't good enough I am going to ask if I can purchase their books (the ones they offer for their class) and try and teach myself. I really need to get some experience under my belt. I haven't been working in 4 years while I stayed home with my kids. If I could have some sort of experience or something to show on a resume that would be great. I know, as if I don't have enough on my plate with 5 classes at the community college this fall but now to try and take on another one. Plus 5 classes in spring on top of trying to get a job preparing taxes during tax season. YIKES!!! LOL!!

Anywho, it's Monday and what a better way to start the week than with a gorgeous LO created by Abby using Artful Delight's August monthly kit.

ABBY

WOW, just stunning. I love ALL the details Abby added to this LO!! For more details about this LO please visit Abby's blog.

Tomorrow is another BIG day, it ends this months sketch challenge and it is also the last day to submit your projects for the upcoming DT starting in November. Click here for more info about the DT and be sure to link your project up in the sidebar for this months sketch challenge. :-)

The Merry Widow

Hello my crafty friends! Happy Saturday. It will probably end up being clean and organize house day for me because school starts on Monday.

I finally figured out why I am so stressed and overwhelmed about school. It's because I have no more chances to complete school. I have to pass and understand what I am doing. I can't drop a class, I can't afford a bad grade and I am not 18yrs old again. I have responsibility, my kids and my house. First and foremost they come first and with kids, ya just never know if something unexpected will come up. When I was 18 my main responsibility would have been school and working. Easy peasy, I could have done that with no problems. Now I have myself to worry about and 4 others. I worry, will I have enough time in the day to get things done. AND I have to do well. In less than one year from now I WILL be employed. I HAVE to be employed. Within the next year I have to complete school, organize my house, pack, find a new place for my family to live (in a new state), find a job, and move my family across the country. On top of that, find a safe and friendly place for my kids to go to daycare after we move and both Tony and I are working. I am a wreck about having to put my kids in daycare!!! I have to do ALL of this while keeping my sanity! LOL!!

Phew, I feel better now that I got that off my chest. LOL! Now for the good stuff, today's LO! It was created by Debbie using Artful Delight's August monthly kit.

Isn't it gorgeous? WOW!!! I love it. For more details about this LO please visit Debbie's blog.

I wanted to mention one thing before I go, September monthly kit reveal will more than likely be a little late this month. We chose to go with a SUPER new collection for September and they are just starting to ship now. So I just don't expect to have it all by the 25th. I will more than certainly be able to ship on time (the 1st) so that shouldn't be delayed. Just a little hint, think fall. I am really excited about this months kit because Debbie and I (mostly Debbie) have a special treat to add to the kit. Oooh lala!! :-)

Well that's all for today, don't forget to get crafty and enter this month's sketch challenge. It ends August 23rd. :-)

A Huge Thanks

Good Morning! I start school on Monday, I am excited to get this semester going but I am not looking forward to having to be at school every night Monday-Thursday. Monday is the only day I have one class from 5:30-6:45, then I get to come home. Every other day I have a 5:30-6:45 class and then a 7-10 class. I have no online classes this semester, all FIVE classes are on campus. It will be interesting. :-)

Today I have an adorable card to share with that Courtney created using Artful Delight's August Card Kit. Unfortunately the card kit is sold out but there are still a few Scrapbook Kits left. :-)

Isn't that Panda adorable. LOVE it!! For more details about Courtney's card please visit her blog.

smile!

Hello my crafty friends! This is my second post for today, click here to see my earlier post.

I am really loving CAS cards lately. I can make pretty cards and not take a long time. AND in the end I feel satisfied. I don't know if any of you feel the same but when I make something and it takes a long time or I am stressed while making it (finding the right tools, embellishments, placement, etc) I don't feel satisfied. I feel annoyed actually. LOL!

Well CAS has been super fun. :-) For this card I used white cardstock from Bazzill and used my Cricut to create an aperture (Thanks June for the awesome inspiration) The butterfly was an image I had stored in my SCAL program that I use. I centered it on my mat and cut it out.

Then I took all the papers in Artful Delight's August monthly kit and I cut a variety of sizes of strips. Mostly 1/4" and smaller. I used the butterfly shape and covered it with adhesive. Then I arranged the strips of paper on the butterfly. I used some strong Elmer's glue dots to adhere the butterfly on the inside of the card, lining it up with the open space. I again used a sticker sentiment from EAD Designs. I finished the card up by rounding the edges.

That's it. I really love how all those pattern papers look together. They actually match really well.

There are still a few Artful Delight August monthly kits left. AND we are having a BUY 1 GET 1 FREE sale going on right now. Click here for more details. :-)

Hello

Hello my friends. I have a super quick post for you today.

I am not sure what color this paper really is. I went to my LSS and asked for Kraft but this is certainly not Kraft. Can you believe I am all out of that paper. My favorite paper ever! LOL! Anywho, I used some printer paper and cut a mask. I used a 5x5 inch piece of paper and cut a 3x3 inch square from the center. I temporarily adhered the outer part to the card and inked the two flowers in Versamark ink and clear embossed it. Then I used some distress inks and sponged around the flowers.

I didn't realize until I was all done that when I was stamping the flower on the left, the stamp must have shifted a bit so there is a little double image action going on. The sentiment is a sticker from EAD Designs.

Well that's all for today. I will be back tomorrow more cute projects from the DT using Artful Delight's August kit. :-)

August 16, 2011

Good Morning and Happy Friday! It has been awesome having Tony home the last couple days. He doesn't have to go back until Monday so we are going to enjoy our weekend. Yesterday we did absolutely nothing and it was great. Tonight is family dinner and a movie; pizza, jalapeno poppers and my son's new favorite...Power Rangers. Oh my goodness he laughs at every episode. It's great. Tony and I just make fun of the horrible "special effects," the horrible acting and the overall horribly funny show. LOL!

Today I have another awesome project to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Abby, created. She used Artful Delight's August SCRAPBOOK KIT.

ABBY
Another gorgeous LO from Abby. I love all the details she added to the LO!!! For more details please visit Abby's blog. Click here if you would like to purchase the August SCRAPBOOK or CARD KIT!

Thank you, some cute pictures, and a cool laptop cover

Good Morning. Yesterday was a really nice day. We had our breakfast and then headed out to the park. Here are a few pictures while we were there.

Max
Isabel
Nicki
Tony
Ah then we came home and hung out with the kids. Tony started to clean out the basement (yes for our move next year and yes maybe it seems like we are getting an early start but the next year will be busy). Nicki started to repaint one of our extra bedrooms, it's only extra because the lil ones all share a room. I can't believe how much they love it.

I had bought some vinyl from EAD Designs a week or so ago and so Tony and I made some laptop covers. Tony designed mine in a program called Inkscape. It turns images into SGV files to be cut in my Sure Cuts A Lot program. LOVE it.

Then we had an absolute delicious dinner. Tony made it, he is such an awesome cook. We had twice baked potatoes, bourbon chicken, brown rice, and broccoli. YUMMY!!!

And I ended my day making a card and watching some TV. I wish everyday was like that. LOL! :-) So not realistic.

Here is my card:

I used products from both the August and June kits. Well first, I saw this technique over on Alice's blog from Alice's Little Wonderland. Basically all you do is stamp your image on your cardstock. For my card I used the creme colored cardstock from August's monthly kit and I also used the stamp set from the August CARD KIT. I inked the stamp with Charcoal Colorbox Chalk ink and randomly stamped the image. I used two of the stamps from the set. It is from Inkadinkado and it's called, Garden Gate. Then to get the textured look, you take a piece of tissue paper and you ball it up. Get the tissue paper all wrinkled. Next you cover your cardstock (with the stamped images) with Mod Podge or some other clear drying glue and then spread the tissue paper over the top. Flatten it a bit but don't flatten out the wrinkles. And that's it. Super easy and it gives an awesome texture to your card. :-)

Then go ahead and use it to decorate your card. I used the grey satin ribbon, a Tim Holtz button, the black cardstock and yellow pattern paper from the August CARD KIT and the yellow flowers are actually from the June SCRAPBOOK KIT. Oh how perfectly they matched. The sentiment is from Practicing Creativity Design and is embossed in white embossing powder.

I wanted more of the yellow pattern paper to show because it is so beautiful but I do like the way the card turned out. Oh also, the card measures 5"x7", not my usual 4.25"x5.5".

Happy Crafting!!

From our home to yours with love

Good morning! Today is day 1 of Tony's little vacation. We are having a stay-cation. I am warming up a breakfast skillet right now as I type. Yummy... sausage, egg, cheese, green pepper, onions and potato skillet. Then it's off to the park with the kids. It should be a nice day. The kids are in a decent mood so far and that is a good sign. :-)

Today I have a super cute card to share that June created using Artful Delight's August kit.
I love June's use of the papers, awesome choice for the "wallpaper." Such a gorgeous card. She also used one of My Pink Stampers NEW stamp sets. I might have to pick up one of her super cute Punny-licious stamp sets to use with the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge. Man I really need to use it.

Anywho, for more details about this beautiful card, please visit June's blog.

There are still a few kits left so be sure to pick one up before they are all gone.

Happy Crafting!!
