Non-paper craft

So I finished this project just before I went on vacation 2 weeks ago and I meant to post about it but I just didn't have the time. I tried to craft tonight but I was feeling a bit tired and unmotivated so I thought I would share the purse I made. Now the picture I am going to show is not the completed one, but the only difference is the completed one has a bit of black trim at the top and then 2 black handles.

It turned out super cute and for being a beginner at sewing I thought it turned out pretty well. I sorta surprised myself! lol

It didn't take even half as long as I thought it would. I really like the way it turned out. It has a black lining with 2 rather large and deep pockets. I think the next one I make for myself will be a bit bigger. With 3 young children I seem to carry a lot of stuff in my purse. Diapers, wipes, wallet, bottles, my phone.....plus A LOT of junk/garbage ends up in there too. LOL!
I do also plan on making some and selling them in my Etsy store, I will let you know when I do and y'all can check them out. I will be selling them for pretty cheap too. :-) Maybe I will make one to giveaway!! Yippee!!

Artfuldelight has merchandise!

That's right Artfuldelight has merchandise. Check it out here!!

Plus here is what I have to offer: For every purchase made you will receive via email a $20 off coupon code to be used at Artfuldelight.com.

This offer is good for the month of July! So check it out!

Yippee!!! BLOG CANDY!!!!

The many faces

Here is another layout page. I have really enjoyed make scrapbook layouts. That was my first passion 13 yrs ago and as much as I love card making I think I love scrapbooking a little more. Only because it is personal, when I make a layout it is specific to me and my family. When I make a card it is never for anyone in mind, heck I think I have most of my cards for sale at my Etsy store.
I don't send cards often because I don't really have anyone to send one to, no one that I think would really appreciate it. So layouts are just fun to create a scene around the pictures I chose.

Ok, anyways here is the sketch.....it is from Splitcoaststampers SBSC244:

And here is my layout:

The pattern paper is from Pebbles Inc from the May Bouquet collection and the cardstock is Crushed Curry from Stampin' UP! The alpha stickers are all from Basic Grey, the yellow chip stickers are from the Nook and Pantry collection and the black-ish colored ones are from the new Oliver collection.(both available at Artfuldelight.com
What I found funny is I had the same theme for my son's scrapbook page with the same type of pictures. Crazy!!

Supplies:

Paper: Crushed Curry cardstock (Stampin' UP!), May Bouquet pattern paper (Pebbles Inc)

Misc: Oliver Micro Mini Monograms stickers and Nook and Pantry Chip Stickers (Basic Grey)

Music LO

Happy Sunday! Ahhhh it was so nice to craft again, it has been over 2 weeks since I have been able to make anything. It has been almost as long since I have been able to really blog hop. Since I didn't have much going on this morning I decided to check some of my favorite sketch challenge blogs.
And to my delight when of them is having a Design Team call. Over at Twisted Sisters they are looking for 8 new designers. I have only submitted to one other design team call with another site and well I didn't make it but some very talented ladies did. Anywho, I decided to give it a try. So here is my LO for the sketch and "twist".

The Twist to this sketch is "Music" - whichever way that word moves you to create.
And here is my layout:

The pattern paper is all from Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers collection. The 12x12 Kraft cardstock is from Stampin' UP! The images of the Treble Clef and the Treble Clef flourish are printed off my computer on to some cardstock, it's from Stampin' UP! but not sure the name. The sticker alphas are also from Basic Grey, I used the white is from the Basics collection, the brown and red is from Max and Whiskers collection. All the Basic Grey products are available for purchase at my store, Artfuldelight. On Tuesday I will have 2 of their new collections on sale, Oliver and Olivia. I will have their collection pack for sale for $9.75.

Alright well there you have it, we will see what happens with my submission to their design team, fingers crossed.

Supplies:

Paper: Max and Whiskers (Basic Grey), Kraft (SU)

Misc: Max and Whiskers chip stickers (Basic Grey)

Happy Father's Day

Happy Friday! So excited the weekend is finally here. Can't believe today is my daughters last day of school and next year she will be an 8th grader. Time flies. So for today I will be sharing with you the card I made for my dad for Father's Day. Tony "drew" it in Inkscape and then uploaded it in Sure Cuts A Lot to cut on my Cricut. It made this card super simple.

I used a Chocolate Chip base and the DSP is from Stampin' UP! called To the Nines. I used some silver brads for the buttons and the collar. I cut the pocket out by hand and cut a sliver of cream satin ribbon to make the "handkerchief".
And there ya have it, my dad's vest card. I hope he likes it, I made his birthday card a couple months back and he liked it. It was pretty plain compared to this one so we will see.

Happy Crafting!!
Don't forget to check out my 7 days of Giveaways!!!

June 10, 2010

So this is what I have been doing.

So this week has been a bit crazy. I am beginning to feel overwhelmed. We are going out of town on Sunday for a week to visit my family. I haven't seen most of my family in 7 yrs, I am so totally excited. And you know when you go on vacation you want your house in order before you leave. So I am frantically trying to get everything in order. Laundry and dishes done, clean the house, organize everything and make sure I pack.
We are leaving at 10pm Sunday, it will take 12 hrs to get to Illinois. We chose to make an overnight trip of it since we have 4 kids and the 2 toddlers may not take to sitting (awake) in a car for that long. This way they can sleep most of the way. I hate that they will be sleeping in the car seats but again, not sure I can handle them awake for the whole 12 hrs. LOL!
Tomorrow is Nicki's (my 13 yr old) last day of school since we will be leaving Sunday. I made each of her teachers a little gift. She has 10 that she wanted to give them to. I made little post-it note covers and gave them a Hershey candy bar.(don't mind my MESSY craft desk in the picture) I used pattern paper from Sassafras to cover 4x4 coasters. I bought them from several months ago and finally found the perfect thing to use them on.
I used my Bind-it-All and some 3/4 inch silver O-wire to bind them together. Then I just adhered a Post-It note pad inside. I ran out of my Tombo Mono Multi Glue so I had to use my Crystal Effects. Worked just as good.
I used my Cricut to cut out a circle and scallop and then used my Lovely Letters Alphabet stamp set from Stampin' UP! and put the last letter of her teachers name on it. We bought some Hershey candy bars and took the outer wrapper off. I cut some cardstock and used my scallop punch on the edges. Using my Cricut again I cut ovals and scallop ovals and stamped a sentiment on the top. The sentiment is from Basic Grey, I'd Pick You.

Voila, there is 10 gifts for Nicki's teachers. Today and tomorrow I will need to focus on getting my Father's Day cards made. I need to make one for my dad and my brother. I usually only have time to make one card a day. I would like to make a bunch of cards and be able to have one pre-posted everyday but I won't hold my breath. LOL! That seems like a lot to get done on top of everything else I need/want to do.

SFYTT - Birthday

Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a relaxing day! My family and I have all come down with bad colds. Tony and the kids have been sick for days and just today I started feeling the effects, aches and pains! Ugh!! However, before my nap today I was able to get crafty! Wahoo.

I participated in 2 challenges, one from Splitcoaststampers (F4A15) - It's a Boy Thing and my card layout is inspired from SFYTT at i{heart}2stamp. For Splitcoaststampers, It's a Boy Thing we just needed to create a masculine card, a card that would be given to a boy big or small. I chose to make the card for my brother, his birthday is in a couple weeks.

And here is my card:

I thought the sentiment would be great for my brother because he was a ladies man and I guess would still like to think he is, lol!
The Kraft card base is 5x5 instead of my usual 4.25x5.5. I used a super cute pattern paper from Pebbles' Lil Buddy collection. It's called Blankie.
Then I used Sahara Sand cardstock for the small square in the middle. I saw this on another blog and thought it made a cute background so I used just the "O" from the sentiment in You're the Man stamp set from Practicing Creativity Design (included in today's giveaway). I inked it with Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink. The ""plaque" with the screws is also from the You're the Man and I inked that in Pumpkin Pie. The "you're getting old" sentiment is inked in the Chestnut Roan. The light blue pattern paper is the other side of the orange pattern paper. I used my Xacto knife to cut slits and feed the ribbon through the PP. The ribbon is Chocolate Chip. The little circle is a stamp from PCD new stamp set that was just released today, also included in today's giveaway. The stamp set is so cute, called Barefoot Summer. All of PCD stamp sets are also available at Artfuldelight.

Voila, there is my card!! :-)

Supplies:

Stamp: You're the Man and Barefoot Summer(Practicing Creativity Designs), You're gettin' old - birthday(Skipping Stones Design)

Ink: Chestnut Roan (Colorbox Chalk Ink), Pumkpin Pie Stampin' Write Marker (SU)

Paper: Kraft and Sahara Sand cardstock (SU), Lil Buddy collection-Blankie (Pebbles Inc)

Misc: Chocolate Chip ribbon (SU)

So Precious - Twisted Sketches #52

I created my layout yesterday but my computer was acting up so I didn't get a chance to post about it or upload it. All seems to be well now so cross your fingers it doesn't break again since I certainly cannot afford another laptop right now. :-(

I really am super excited I found Twisted Sketches blog. It seems that all their challenges come together so great and their scrapbook layout sketches are so perfect for the supplies I have to use. So here is the sketch:
And here is my layout:

So I used a 12x12 PP from Me and My BIG Ideas. After I chose the paper I realized that the Origins collections from Basic Grey color coordinated so well. I used my chip sticker shapes and just embellished the PP. I used some chipboard alphas from the Nook and Pantry collection as well and the glitter letters are Thickers from American Crafts. I layered the large picture of a Chocolate Chip scallop I cut with my Cricut.

Supplies:

Stamp: none

Ink: none:

Paper: Chocolate Chip cardstock (SU), Pattern Paper (Me and My BIG Ideas)
Misc: chip sticker shapes from Origins collection and chip alphas from Nook and Pantry collection (Basic Grey), glitter Thickers (American Crafts)

Sketch For You To Try....

Happy Tuesday! I wasn't sure I was going to craft today, my son hasn't been feeling good and so I haven't had a good night sleep lately. I have been a bit tired and was going to nap but I just couldn't stay away from my craft table. So I participated in i{heart}2stamp's SFYTT. Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:

Ok so let me take a moment as say I certainly cannot take a picture. We have a "high-tech" camera that I cannot use for nothing and then I have my iPhone. Not it usually takes decent pictures but lately....not so much. So I have to resort to scanning my cards just so they look ok. My iPhone was making the pictures very dark and I have tried all sorts of lighting.

Ok anywhoo, I usually go for a Kraft card base but today I went with a Pumpkin Pie card base. I layered a Sahara Sand cardstock with some PP from K&Co. The orange polka dots and the flower scallop. The striped "ribbon" is from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush collection. It is called a Ribbon Doilie. They are super cool because they are self adhesive and each pack comes with 3 different styles. The hearts are also from the Sugar Rush collection called Pops. The sentiment I am not sure where I got it from, Michaels dollar bin maybe? I am not sure.

Supplies:

Stamp: misc stamp from Michaels dollar bin

Ink: Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink

Paper: Pumpkin Pie and Sahara Sand cardstock (SU), PP from K&Co

Misc: Sugar Rush collection - Pops and Ribbon Doilie (Basic Grey)

Happy Crafting!!
