You're Cute As A Button

Good morning my friends!! I can't believe this week is already half over. Pretty excited though. I have been working through my Excel homework and it really has been kicking my butt. Maybe it's my kids running around yelling and playing but I can't concentrate. For those that know Excel I am working on "SumIf" and I just can't get it. I just had to put it down. I guess I will work on it again when my kids are sleeping tonight, and when Tony is home and can help me. He knows Excel pretty well.

Take a look at today's LO.  It was created by our Delightful Designer, Debbie.

DEBBIE

Love all the layers and detail. For more  details about this LO, please visit Debbie's blog.

Boy oh boy, I just have so much going on in my mind that I just can't  focus.  I  wonder if something relaxing like scrapping or something might clear my mind.  Doesn't hurt to try, right?

Love My Girls

Happy Tuesday my friends!! Week one has been completed of my summer semester, only 9 weeks to go. How many of you are afraid of speaking in public? Well I am terrified. I have to take a public speaking class starting next week and I am terrified. So terrified I took the class online so I wouldn't have to give the speeches in person. I have to record my speeches and upload them to Youtube. BUT I am still terrified. I read my class syllabus yesterday and I actually considered dropping the class. Yeah but that wouldn't work because I NEED public speaking for my degree. I just have to remind myself in 8 weeks it will all be over. AND being online I don't ever have to see these people again. LOL!!

Can you believe that May is almost over?  I can't.  Well since we still have a couple days left in May I will share with you another project that our Delightful Designer, Debbie, created using our May scrapbook kit.

DEBBIE

Beautiful LO!! For more details about this LO please visit Debbie's blog.  :-)

I hope everyone has a wonderful 4 day week - This is my daughter's last official week of school and all she has is testing, so she gets out at 12:30pm everyday.  She does have classes next week but may not go because they aren't actually doing anything.

There's gnomebody like you

Good Morning my friends! I was able to craft yesterday but I realized that I have way too much of my crafty stuff packed away. It was a little tough to get the project done but I made it work.

I have a friend that asked me to make her a Thank you card.  I felt bad because she asked me to make a Mother's Day card and  time just slipped away and I didn't get to make it.  I even bought a stamp set specifically to make her card.  She wanted me to make it with some Gnomes.  I saw a super cute stamp set from Wilson Designs called Gnomebody Like You.  I just had to have it.

Well I was bummed I didn't make her the Mother's Day card but then she came to me about a week or so ago and asked if I could make a Thank you card.  Since I was a bit short on time, my mojo is still slacking a little, and half my craft stuff is packed away, I borrowed the design from this card.

Think it turned out cute.  She wanted the recipients name on it so I used my Alphadot stamp set from Paper Smooches.   I love the stamp set because it is just the alphabet so I can spell whatever I want.  I actually used 3 stamp sets for this card.  I used Sentiment Sampler and Alphadot from Paper Smooches and also the Gnomebody Like You stamp set from Wilson Designs

I used pattern papers from our May kit. I paper pieced the gnome with a variety of papers.  I showed my friend the card and she absolutely loves it!!  That makes me happy.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  I don't have to work so I get to spend the day with my kids.  :-)

Spotlight Saturday!

Happy Saturday my friends!! I cannot believe the end of another month is right around the corner.  I am in serious countdown mode - T-minus 66 days until we leave.  I couldn't be any more excited.  We are getting close to the time that we can find a home and confirm jobs.....Oh I am so excited about that too.  The job that I thought I was going to get but couldn't back in April because the training  classes started before I would get to Arizona have job postings that just got posted which means I think they will start in August.  I have been in touch with the HR rep and she said that we can move forward when the classes are available after I arrive in Arizona.  Ahhhhhh, I am so excited.  Now just to get Tony a job.

Well today you are in for a treat.  I asked our sketch challenge winner for April, Yvonne from Do More With Less,  to be our Guest Designer this month....I know, I know the  month is almost over and I haven't  posted anything yet.  Well that's because she lives out of the country and for some reason it took FOREVER for her to get the package.  Well she got her package a week or so ago and she got to work.  So I don't just have one project to share with you - nope not two or three projects......I have NINE PROJECTS to share. Yvonne used our May scrapbook kit!  I told you, you were in for a treat!!!!

 YVONNE

I am pretty much speechless!!!!!  NINE layouts with one kit - that is amazing.  Many of my designers, even though they are only asked to make 4 projects a month, say that after those 4 projects they still have a TON of product left from the kit.  Our kits really are an amazing deal for your money.

All of these LO's are absolutely amazing, I LOVE the ones where she used misting and masking.

So what do you think, is that a lot of projects for one kit or what??  There are still some June kits left, I think we only have one scrapbook kit and 3 card kits.  They will officially go on sale in our store  June 1st.  BUT if you would like to pre-order please send me an email.  leeanne@artfuldelight.com

Well that's all for today.  For my those who celebrate Memorial Day- I hope you have a safe and wonderful weekend.

May 25, 2012

Make a wish and Trust....

Hap-Hap-Happy Friday!!! Who's glad the weekend is here? I know most of you are but for me, not so much. I have to work tonight and tomorrow night. I know it's only two days, I just don't like working nights. LOL!  I will suck it up!! :-)

Does anybody have any Memorial Day weekend plans?

Well today and tomorrow I will have some awesome projects to share. So if you are just relaxing at home this weekend be sure to stop by.

Today I have two cards to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Karen,  created using our May card kit.

Rose Necklace Tutorial

Happy Wednesday my friends!! It was supposed to rain all day but so far the sun is shining and it looks like a beautiful morning. Tony's has the day off today so we will be heading to the park in a bit. :-)

Today I have an awesome tutorial to share with that our Delightful Designer, Karen, created using our May card kit.

 Here is Karen's tutorial:

Included in May's Artful Delight Kit are some beautiful Eclectic Buttons from Crate Paper. I knew the moment I saw them that a few of the pieces would make a delightful necklace! That's right, these kits contain embellishments that can be used beyond scrapbooking and cardmaking!

To make this easy, quick and elegant necklace, you only need a few supplies. In addition to one of the buttons/brads in the kit, gather a length of jewelry chain, a clasp, a few jump rings and a necklace base. My sister found the base of the necklace from a pack of chandelier earrings marked way down on clearance! (The other half of mismatched or lost earrings is perfect for this as well, and the chain from a previously broken necklace too!)

First, remove the earring hook from the earring and add a few jump rings to connect the earring to the chain. Needle nose pliers help with this process because you bend apart the jump ring where they connect, loop it through and bend them back again.

Next, attach the clasp to the end of the chain in the same manner as you did for the base.

Remove the brad clasp from the back of the resin button with pliers and adhere to the necklace base with jewelry glue or cement glue. I did also adhere a circle punched piece of patterned paper behind the metal base of the necklace so that the glue was sandwiched between the resin and paper to form a stronger bond. Allow ample time to dry. And there you have it, a beautiful custom necklace!

I made a quick card too, to give with this necklace as a gift. I attached some fun vintage patterned paper included in this month's kit to a cardstock base, rounded the corner and inked the edges. After stamping a sentiment, I added one of the custom flowers from the kit! First, though, I made that a bit more vintage by inking out the edges and switching the center brad out from one from my stash. Love that I can alter the embellishments from the kit if I need too!

Thank you Karen for an awesome tutorial.  We will see a few more of those over the next few months.

Oh, we will have our kit reveal a day early so be sure to stop by tomorrow for our June kit reveal.  :-)  Another awesome kit put together by Debbie!!!  :-)

Cheerio Swiper

Happy Tuesday!!! What a gloomy day we have going on today. It was gloomy yesterday too AND it is expected to be this way for the next week. And to top the doom and gloom we have all come down with either really miserable colds or sinus infections.

But enough about all that, today I have an awesome LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Missy, created using our May scrapbook kit.

I just can't say it enough, I LOVE all the layer and detail. I tend to be a more CAS scrapper, layers intimidate me a little.   But all my scrapbook designers so far have been able to ROCK layers and dimension in their LO's.  AND practice does make perfect so I guess I need to get scrappin'.  LOL!!

I had my first class last night of the summer semester and I have mixed feelings.  It is a specialized software class and basically it is supposed to focus on Excel - I want to become "proficient" in Excel because it seems most Accounting jobs want a very high level of knowledge in Excel.  I know probably the absolute basics.....So during class last night I could not determine if I will end up learning any more than I already know.  Also I found out she is ok with working at our own pace.  That is both good and bad.  I work at my own pace and I can have this class finished in a week - I will still have to sit through class, and that could make for a long and boring night.  LOL!!  There is only 7 ladies in my class and I just don't think we need 10 weeks to finish the class.  I guess this is good though because in 2 weeks I start my public speaking class and it is only an 8 week class so I am sure there will be a lot to get done in those 8 short weeks.

I guess the good news is I may be able to craft a bit.  I need to get my mojo back.  With moving and being half packed for the last 2 months or so, I just feel lost.  I don't know where half of my stuff is. LOL!

Alright well there is only today and tomorrow to get your project uploaded for this month's sketch challenge(s) - we have a card and layout sketch for you to try.  That means 2 chances to win.  You are playing along for your chance to win one of our June kits - the winner will now have their choice of the card or scrapbook kit.  :-)

My New Favorite Toy

Good Morning!! It is a gloomy day here in Virginia but I guess that's ok because I have to work most of the day to come home and then head to school tonight. No time to play today. :-(

I really like the LO I get to share with you today, well I LOVE all the LO's I get to share but this one shows that even with a more feminine kit like we have this month, Marcia was able to create a more neutral/masculine LO.  Marcia used our May scrapbook  kit to create this fabulous LO!!  :-)

 MARCIA

I love the little paper airplane that she made for an embellishment.  :-)  For more details about this LO please visit Marcia's blog.  :-)

Be sure to get in your entry for this month's sketch challenge, we only have 2 more days to enter.  Link up in the sidebar by May 23rd.

My Beautiful Daughter

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!! I hope your weekend has been wonderful!! Today I have a beautiful LO to share with you that our Delightful Designer, Debbie, created using our May scrapbook kit.

 DEBBIE

All the layers and fussy cutting is just delightful!! For more details about this LO please visit Debbie's blog.

Only a few more days left to enter our sketch challenges this month.  We have 2 sketches to chose from and the winner can chose their prize.  So play along with either our card or LO sketch for your chance to win either the card or scrapbook kit.  :-)  Link up your project in the sidebar by May 23rd for your chance to win.

Alright well enjoy the rest of you day.  I am headed out to work in a little bit.  AND school starts back up tomorrow.  I just can't believe it, I am going to complete the last 2 classes to obtain my Associates, what an amazing feeling.  AND we are T-minus 73 days until moving day!!  Yipppeeee!!!  AND I found a daycare (out in Arizona) to take my kids, life is good right now.  :-)   AND I found out my son's school has before and after school program so he will be taken care of too.  I thought maybe since they didn't have bus service (it's a chartered school) that they probably didn't have any after school programs but I was wrong and I am happy I was.  So now we just wait until mid June/beginning of July to find a house and a job.  :-)

Enjoy your day!!

WINNER!!!

Good Morning my friends!!! I hope everyone has been doing well. Life has just seriously gotten really busy and not even with packing/moving stuff; just normal life. I have been working more, dentist and doctor appointments, taking my son to speech therapy, running here and there.......I can only imagine what is in store for my family when I have 2 kids in school, 2 kids in daycare, and both Tony and I are working full time and eventually trying to go and finish school. There will seriously not be enough hours in the day. Well today's agenda includes the dentist for all 4 kids, mowing the lawn and hopefully a little packing. We are T-minus 76 days until we move. :-)

Today I just have the winner of my recent giveaway to announce. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that entered and answered the question that I mentioned in the post. It is so nice to hear that those that entered/won would be willing to pitch in for shipping. I even had a couple comments that said they would buy a box of goodies. :-) I think for now I will stick to giving it away. :-) But yes, shipping is getting expensive. So what I am going to do, after I load a box of stuff to today's winner I am going to divide all the rest of my stuff up, see how many boxes I have and we will have a giveaway real soon to get rid of all those boxes. :-)

So today's winner is comment #11:

Congratulations Lisa.  Please email me your mailing address so I can get your package in the mail to you.  :-)
