Spotlight Saturday

Good morning and Happy Saturday!! Today will be a long day for me. I have to work and even though most of you work 8 hour shifts, it is not normal for me to at Micheals and today I have to. I think the longest part will come in that the first 2-3 hours of my day will be spent hosting a birthday party. Those are always so exhausting. But then I get to sit for 2 hours and demo a card, I get to craft for 2 hours. :-) Oh well. I have actually been thinking about trying to get a full time regular job after I finish this semester. I need the experience before I move and try to find a good paying job. Tony will be able to quit his job in June (his company paid for us to move to Virginia from Florida so in turn he had to sign a 3 year contract, his contract is up in June, wahhooooo). So when he quits, hopefully he will find a closer job and maybe work nights so I can work days. It will be REALLY hard for me to leave my kids all day every day.....I know many of you are saying "I do it every week" but I have been home with my kids for almost 5 years. But I think I will embrace the new experience with open arms.....a REAL job.....

Ok well enough about all that mumbo jumbo, today I would like to share with you our February Guest Designer. You may recognize the name from when I announced the January sketch challenge winner.

Marcia from One Scrap at a Time won our January sketch challenge and I just loved her work so I asked if she would be our February Guest Designer.

The LO we are sharing today is absolutely AMAZING. Marcia rocked the February scrapbook kit.

G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S!!! I love all the detail!! For more details and to welcome our February Guest Designer, please visit Marcia's blog. She will be back next Saturday to share more awesome-ness. :-)

That's it for today. I really wanted to craft today but not sure I will get to it. I bought some new Memory Box Dies and I am dying to play with them. :-) I do actually have one for sale if anyone is interested. I used it once, it is a beautiful die but I was looking for border die and this doesn't punch out the shape it punches out the design, does that make sense. Below are some pictures. I am asking $6.50 plus $1.75 shipping (US only).

WOW, that was a long post, I hope you all stayed until the end. I really appreciate all of you and appreciate that you stop by!

Enjoy your day!!

Inspire

Happy Sunday my friends!! I hope y'all are enjoying your weekend. Nothing special happens on the weekends here, Saturday and Sunday are just like every other day. Tony works weekends and really there isn't a whole lot to do around where I live, especially with a 1,2, and 3 year old. LOL!

Have you seen April's sketch challenge yet? Be sure to check it out and get your entry submitted before April 23 for your chance to win May's monthly kit. :-)

Today I am sharing a card with you that I created using a stamp from Memory Box, I absolutely love it but I think I have only used it once or twice.

I used my Tim Holtz distress inks and a spray bottle to create a watercolor look with the image. I really like the way it turned out. The pattern paper is from Colorbok, they sent me a paper pad a while back for signing up for their newsletter or something. It is beautiful paper.

Super simple card. I stitched along the edges of the card and all I had was white thread. It was a bit bright for the card so I sponged a little distress ink on the thread to tone it down a bit.

Stop by tomorrow for some more inspiration from DT member Courtney using April's monthly kit.

Inspire

Good Morning fellow paper crafters! Today I will be sharing a card I made using more products I received in my goodie box last week.
This was actually a really quick card. The Inspire Butterfly stamp was inked on a post-it type of paper. I thought it was super cute and I found some matching paper from my Me and My Big Ideas paper pad. I have had this paper pad for almost a year and I haven't really done much of anything with it. It has some really fab designs. The flower was cut out from one of the pattern papers, I added a brad from Basic Grey in the middle and added some glitter. Oh and that stamp is from Memory Box. Hope y'all have a great day!

Giveaway Day 4

Good Evening! So I am totally posting this a little late. I wanted to have it done in the morning but my computer took a crap last night and Tony had to take it apart and fix it. Thankfully he fixed it. Then since it was Tony's day off there was lots of errands and such.

So on to today's giveaway. It will include 4 fabulous wood mounted stamps and an acrylic stamp set from Memory Box. Wahoo! These stamps are so cute.

Again the only requirement is you become a follower and leave me a comment saying you did. If you would like an extra entry, blog about the giveaway and leave me a comment with a link to your post.

TESC115 - Just for You

Good Morning, Happy Memorial Day, Happy Monday! Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. I participated in Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #115. This card came together so wonderfully. I felt satisfied after I made it.

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card: (update: I uploaded a new pic that was a little brighter but the picture still stinks. I need to work on taking better pictures so I don't have to scan it )
Again I started with a Kraft card base. I used Whisper White with a layer of Chocolate Chip for the solid cardstock colors and the Pattern Paper was from Memory Box and Cosmo Cricket. The larger of the 2 PP is from Memory Box called Butterfield, super cute 6x6 pages with lovely garden and scenery pictures. The slender PP is from Cosmo Cricket, Earth Love Mini Deck. (both available at Artfuldelight)
The tree stamp is also from Memory Box called Twizzle Tree. I saw this stamp on another blog (I am so sorry I don't remember which one) and I just had to have it, I really liked the curly "branches". She also used buttons on hers and I just loved the way it looked. So I made a card of my own. The buttons are from Basic Grey's Nook and Pantry collection. I made a ruffled ribbon trim using Chocolate Chip ribbon from Stampin' UP!.
And bada boom, bada bing we have a card!

Supplies:

Stamps: Twizzle Tree (Memory Box)

Ink: Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink

Paper: Butterfield (Memory Box), Earth Love Mini Deck (Cosmo Cricket), Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White cardstock (SU)

Misc: Chocolate Chip ribbon (SU), Nook and Pantry buttons (Basic Grey), silver hodgepodge hardware (SU)

Never more than a thought away.....

I was able to craft this evening and I decided to participate in a Skipping Stones Design challenge. This card came together really easy but after I look at it I am unsure if it is too busy.

Here is my card:

I received a bunch of stuff from Memory Box the other day and I was super excited to use it. Lots of pattern paper and I used a background stamp from them. So when I was putting it all together I am just not sure if it is too much. All the PP is from their Gossamer collection. The butterfly stamp is the Inspire Butterfly Collage. The sentiment is from Stampin' UP! - Whimsical Words.

Supplies:

Stamp: Inspire Butterfly Collage (Memory Box), Whimsical Words (Stampin' UP!)

Ink: Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink

Paper: Gossamer (Memory Box), Kraft cardstock (Stampin' UP!)

Misc: chipboard frame (American Crafts), satin ribbon (Stampin' UP!), butterfly punch (Stampin' UP!)

A little Note

Just a quick post, I am in the process of making some cards for a challenge or two but I made this "Thank you" card for someone who purchased something from me off eBay. I try to send a little card in every package I mail out. I am trying to find a simple yet cute card to mass produce and have readily available to me.

Oh you can see a small part of my messy desk in the background. Anywhoo, this card measures 4x4 with a Kraft card base. You can't see it very well but I used my Martha Stewart score board to make some score marks at the top of the card. Sadly I don't know the color pink that is but it is from Stampin' UP!. The stamp is from Memory Box - Lovey Dovey wood mounted stamp. Super cute AND available at Artfuldelight. I used some misc pink gems to give it a little bling. The "thanks" sentiment is from Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection - I'd Pick you. The sentiment was supposed to say " thanks for everything you do" but I didn't think I would ever use that so I cut the stamp. Yes, I cut it. I seperated the "thanks" from the stamp so that way I could just use it and not worry about getting ink on the rest of the words. I love the font on that sentiment.
I rounded some corners and bada boom bada bing, a quick Thank you card. I will have to get more of the bling pink gems if I want to make more cards though, as I used my last 4 on this card.

Supplies:

Stamp: Lovey Dovey wood mounted stamp (Memory Box), I'd Pick You (Basic Grey - Green at Heart collection)

Ink: Chestnut Roan Colorbox Chalk Ink, Pink Passion and Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write markers (SU)

Paper: Kraft and a pink cardstock (SU)

Misc: pink gem bling from Michaels

Twisted Cards #007

Happy Sunday! It is the end of another weekend. My son starts speech therapy at the elementary school tomorrow. Most of you don't know me yet so I will give you a quick tid bit about that. My son is going to be 3 in July and he still doesn't talk. He certainly doesn't have a disability keeping him from doing so he is just delayed in that area, he is very independent and has never really "needed" to talk. Someone has always gotten things for him. I am a SAHM so I know his "language" and always seem to know what he wants. He throws BIG fits if he doesn't get what he wants, I guess that's the terrible two's. Anyways, he was getting in home speech therapy since about Nov but it was not consistant by any means. With the winter storms and me having a new baby (in Dec) and just life seemed to get in the way for both me and the therapist. So now he will go to the school, 2 days a week for 30 minutes. I am really excited about it. He will also go next year and may be upgraded to preschool. If we decide that he needs more socialization then maybe he will. Anyways, on to this week's Twisted Cards Sketch #007 -

This week's twist is "Black & White" - any how, any way!

So I started with a Basic Black cardstock from Stampin' UP!. I used my rays from Practicing Creativity Designs stamp set, You're Dandy. I white embossed it on the black cardstock. I then cut that in to 4 - 1.25" sections. I cut a top note with my Cricut (love that thing) and inked a Penguin with Black Stazon. The Penguin comes from my new stamp set from Memory Box called Summer Penguin which is now available at Artfuldelight. I paper pieced the polka dot dress, another stamp from that set. The Ribbon Doilie is from Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection. I love their Ribbon Doilies, they are self adhesive and come in 4 different designs. I used the pink scribble looking one. Super cute!
The umbrella is also from the Summer Penguin set and the "hello" is from Basic Grey called Tweet. All stamp sets are available at Artfuldelight.

Supplies:

Stamp: You're Dandy (Practicing Creativity Designs), Tweet (Basic Grey), Summer Penguin (Memory Box)

Ink: Black Stazon, Pink Passion (Stampin' UP!)

Paper: Basic Black and Whisper White (Stampin' UP!)

Misc: Ribbon Doilie (Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection)
