Sisters

Good Morning! So yesterday afternoon I deleted an application or program or something on my laptop and then it started just deleting all these folders and files on my desktop. Ugghhh!!

Files and folders that contained all my homework and a TON of svg files I had purchased were ALL GONE!!!!

I began to panic. Now I do back my stuff up on a flash drive but not as often as I should so let's just say I hadn't done it lately. Tony found a program that will allow me to recover some deleted files. So we gave it a try. It took ALL night to scan my drives and find the deleted stuff. I wasn't able to recover everything but I did get the most important thing and that was my research paper for English. But....all my craft stuff was deleted and not recovered. I feel so bummed. :-(

Lesson learned though that's for sure. I did get happy mail today and that would be a Cricut Car Decals cartridge I had ordered the other day. So I now have 2 new cartridges to play with.

Well today I have a beautiful LO to share with you that Abby created using Artful Delight's June monthly kit.

I love the colors she used together on this LO!! And the picture is super cute!! For more details about the LO please visit Abby's blog.

Now I am going to try and clean up my files/pictures and such on my laptop. Maybe try and get some organization in my daily life. LOL! I just feel most days I am trying to tackle too many things, school, my kids, homework, house work and I don't take the time to do things the "right" way. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but basically I just mean I always feel rushed so I don't save my files correctly or I don't put my craft stuff away in the right spots or ....well that's really it. I just seem to get distracted very easily and leave my tasks half done. I can't do that anymore, it is causing me great stress. LOL!!

When I was younger, early 20's-ish, and I just had my oldest daughter I was SO organized. I was very particular about where things went and now that is just out the door probably went with my sanity. haha!!

Ok enough of that, I am off to clean and organize. LOL!!

A couple last things to mention, there are still a few June monthly kits left, click here if you would like to purchase.

And last but not least, don't forget to stop by Fantabulous Cricut and play along with this week's challenge for your chance to win Artful Delight's June monthly kit.

Today's feature.......

....my daughter Nicki!! LOL! So I would like to thank Courtney for being an enabler!!!! LOL! :-) She makes such beautiful cards with her Cricut and I especially took a liking to her cards made with the Create a Critter cartridge. I just had to have it!!

I got it in the mail yesterday and my daughter and I decided to make a card. She had gotten a graduation card from my aunt so I thought it would be nice to send her a thank you card. All I did was the Cricut work. She chose the image and what she wanted to do and chose the papers and put it all together.

She needs a little practice with the liquid glue, much like I did in the beginning, she said sometimes it just came pouring out. LOL!

The little lamb is adhered using an Action Wobble. LOVE those things. She was so proud of her card and I think my aunt will love it. :-)

Stop by tomorrow, I will have a LO to share with you that Abby created using Artful Delight's June monthly kit. :-)

Hey have you checked out Fantabulous Cricut this week? I am sponsoring over there and the challenge is to create a project using a sun!! LOVE suns.

Happy Father's Day! (card)

Happy Thursday! Yesterday was a great day, we had Nicki's Graduation Ceremony and then the rest of the day just hung out.

So I decided to apply for a job, part time at the college. I did this over a week ago and I started to think for some reason that I wasn't going to get a call. I also applied at the animal shelter around the same time. I need a job to help pay for an unexpected financial situation that will come up next month. On top of that I want to save for our move next year. So as of yesterday morning I had not heard from anyone. Now on Monday I won an Elmer's Glue prize pack from a blog hop that was going on over at Nikki Sivils blog, I was EXCITED to say the least. I knew at that moment that good things would happen this week. LOL! Well yesterday I got the call from the college asking for an interview. I won't make much but they are willing to work around my schedule. So if I want to work a couple hours here and there in between classes and such then I can. I am SUPER excited. :-)

So today I have a card to share with you that I made for my dad. I used papers from Artful Delight's March monthly kit (sold out).

I used my Cricut and an svg file that I purchased from SVGcuts.com. Since I don't have many cartridges I usually purchase svg files from either SVGcuts.com or MyGrafico.com. There are so many cartridges out there that I want and I just can't afford to buy them. My next best alternative is buying individual files as needed from those two sites. :-)

I made a few changes to the card. Well nothing to the svg cuts just added some extra touches. I cut some clouds with my Cricut and used the as a mask for the sky. I used some removable adhesive, adhered them and then sponged around them with Broken China distress ink. Then for the patch of "grass" I just sponged some Peeled Paint distress ink.

For the inside of the card I used a font pre-programmed in my Cricut and welded the letters together.

I have to get this card in the mail today so it can hopefully (fingers crossed) can reach my dad by Saturday's mail delivery.

That's all I have for you today but be sure to stop by tomorrow because I will have a fabulous LO to share with you that DT member Debbie created. :-)

Jolly - Cricut Card

Hello there my friends! It is just over a week until Christmas and I am almost done with my cards, WAHOOO! Should have them done today and in the mail. Yesterday was a fabulous day. Tony finished up his finals in the early part of the day so we had the evening to spend together and it was wonderful.

We decided to take our kids to see Santa. It was the first time my 3 lil ones saw him. They did very well actually. Then we ended the night with pizza, it was so pleasant. No one was screaming at dinner or running around. We laughed and talked and it was just wonderful (days don't happen like that very often, someone is usually in a cranky or obnoxious mood, lol)

Isabel didn't not seem too happy but she did sit nice without crying. Anywho, next I have a card to share that I made using my Cricut and an SVG file I purchased from SVGcuts.com. I made 2 other cards using the single purchase, the Gingerbread Man and House.

So sorry for the really nasty picture, it has been super cold and super windy here in Virginia so I had to take the picture at night and the lighting was horrible.

You have until tomorrow at midnight to get in on my giveaway(s). So be sure to click here and leave a comment to enter. :-)

Gingerbread House

Happy Friday! Today I will spend the morning at school taking some finals. YAY me! Not really, I am feeling really nervous. My Computer class final is open book but there is so much info that I am not sure I will be able to finish in 2hrs. My English final is not open book but is only worth 30 points. Plus she has some extra credit on there. The problem is currently I am teetering on an A. I have a B and depending on how I do on my last essay (my Professor just needs to grade it) and my final exam, I MAY get an A. I am not going to get my hopes up because for awhile there I would have been happy making it through the class with a C. LOL! So for me almost getting an A would be fabulous! :-)

On to today's card. It is another Christmas card that I got from the SVGcuts.com website. I purchased a file that had 3 cards in it. This is the second one, I will make the last card either today or tomorrow.

Isn't it cute? Have you ever made a project that you really liked the way it turned out but was such a pain in the rump to make that you will never make anything like it again? Well that was this card. LOL! I am not sure if it was the paper I was using to cut in the Cricut or it was the Cricut itself but you see the white part with the candy canes and the peppermint candies. Well the white part was one piece that was cut and I kid you not it took me 10+ tries to get one cut. I couldn't get the speed or the pressure right on the Cricut. It either didn't cut all the way through the paper or was too deep and started ripping the paper. Finally I compromised for a bit of both. LOL! I ended up using my Xacto knife to finish cutting some of the peices out and my trusty Tombo Mono multi glue to fix the parts that ripped a bit. IT WAS A PAIN!!! That was the only part that did that no other part on that card gave me trouble. I even bought a new blade (even though my Cricut was brand new) thinking that was the problem. Anywho, I do like the way it turned out but will not be making another one.

2 Cute lil men...

It is Monday and I am in the final stretch of this semester. I have my last class in Math today and I get my Accounting take home test for the final. I just can't believe it is my last week of classes. I also can't believe how fast Christmas is approaching. Yikes!

Well my Christmas present from my honey was a kitty. I have been BEGGING for one for months. I used to have cats when we met but they were indoor/outdoor cats and one day they didn't come back (well 2 of them) I was devasted. Then when we moved out of state I had to get rid of my last kitty. We have a dog and I love her but I think I am a cat person. So Tony was going to surprise me with a kitty for Christmas but over the weekend the Subaru dealer in town was paying the adoption fees. Can't beat free right? So I went down to the shelter and picked up Chuck aka Tuc. His name was Tuc but I didn't really like it.

He had been at that shelter since September 14 and I felt so bad for him. He was a 3 yr old male cat that was previously owned by an older lady that passed away. I am SO HAPPY I chose him, he is so loving and gets along great with my kids and my dog. He has totally made himself at home.
So, meet Chuck.....

Isn't he handsome? He is such a good kitty!! :-)

Now on to today's project. As usual I am in a crunch for getting my Christmas cards done. I have made a total of 5 and Ineed at least 30 so I need to get working.

Well not sure if you saw a week or so ago where I had my Cricut Expressions up for sale, well I sold it. It was about 48 hrs and I was feeling a bit sad. So I went by Joann Fabrics on Black Friday and they had a Personal Cricut, is that what they are called. The smaller version. It was on sale for $59.99, I had to have it. I LOVE IT!!! Since my craft space is rather small this machine fits perfectly.

Well I use the SCAL program and on SVGcuts.com they have some awesome SVG files. Yesterday I purchased some Christmas card files and started making some. This is what I made last night.

Aren't they cute! Not sure if you can tell in the pic, since I had to take it inside (dang it's cold and windy outside) but I added some glitter to the white part on the hat and boots. So now I have 7 cards, LOL!

Check back tomorrow, I will have a project from DT member Courtney. :-) Don't forget to enter my giveaway, it ends Decemer 17th at midnight EST.

Flying kitty & WMC26

Good Morning everyone! So I have been on a Cricut kick since I found that LO the other day. I haven't dabbled in to anything serious yet but I did use it to cut the "Happy Halloween" sentiment. I participated in Wee Memories, Scrappy Saturday Challenge #26.

Isn't that kitty cute! It's from Digital Delights. Short but sweet post for today. Don't forget to take advantage of the free shipping over at Artfuldelight, the offer ends October 31.

Oldie but Goodie

Hello blogosphere! Quick post today. I was going through my stuff last night and I came across this scrapbook LO I did awhile ago, actually it was one of the first things I made using my Cricut. I was still so new to the machine and I didn't have everything programmed right so this LO took me or shall I say my Cricut about 20 minutes to cut it out. Really I can't even wrap my mind around that machine cutting such a delicate design though.

The Cricut cut out all the white part. How sotally cool is that! Yup that's right I said "sotally". LOL! Side note, we were talking with my daughter the other night and she claims she misspoke when she said "sotally" but it came out so natural that I am not sure it was an accident. LOL! So now I am going to say sotally.

Anywho, I was really pleased with the way this LO turned out. I haven't found the perfect pic to put in there yet so I am just going to hold on to it until I do.

Family

OMG is it really Sunday already? Really where is the time going! I start school in 8 days, how crazy is that. Well I have been crafting away the past couple days, I have been able to craft almost everyday which is very rare. Today's project is going to be a LO. I originally saw this on Kristina's blog at kwernerdesign.com. I love her blog, so inspirational. She posted a video tutorial for Basic Grey. My LO had to be changed a bit from what she did because the picture I had was a landscape and not portrait. But otherwise I used the same general idea.

I am not sure if you noticed yet but I love Kraft. I use Kraft for my cards and also for my LO's. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey, Origins collection. I used my Cricut to cut out all the shapes the squares and the circle. The butterfly was punched out with my Stampin' UP! butterfly punch. The cardstock behind the pic is Close to Cocoa from Stampin' UP! The chipboard letters are from Basic Grey, Nook and Pantry collection. The paislee stamp is from Inkadinkadoo. One of my favorite stamp sets.
I hope y'all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Friday! So excited the weekend is finally here. Can't believe today is my daughters last day of school and next year she will be an 8th grader. Time flies. So for today I will be sharing with you the card I made for my dad for Father's Day. Tony "drew" it in Inkscape and then uploaded it in Sure Cuts A Lot to cut on my Cricut. It made this card super simple.

I used a Chocolate Chip base and the DSP is from Stampin' UP! called To the Nines. I used some silver brads for the buttons and the collar. I cut the pocket out by hand and cut a sliver of cream satin ribbon to make the "handkerchief".
And there ya have it, my dad's vest card. I hope he likes it, I made his birthday card a couple months back and he liked it. It was pretty plain compared to this one so we will see.
