Four leaf clover

Click here if you missed our guest designer post from this morning.

Surprise, I crafted today! LOL!
When I lived in Virginia I actually sold quite a few cards to local  friends and acquaintances.
I have lived in Arizona for almost a year and one of the girls contacted me (after a year) and asked if I would make a card for her.  Of course  I said yes even though I hardly ever get to craft.
Well she wanted a specific phrase on the card and it was a bit long.
"A best friend is like a four leaf clover:  hard to find and lucky to have"

I thought this would be easy, just type the phrase in Word and print it on my cardstock.  WELL the only smooth cardstock I have is what I include in my card kits and it is super thick, it wouldn't go thru my printer.  I tried with some textured cardstock but then my stamping didn't look good.
So I busted out my Paper Smooches stamp set, Alphadot.
And then I also pulled out a new stamp set to me, Petal Pieces from Simon Says Stamp!
Simple card took forever because each letter had to be arranged and stamped and each part of those flowers were stamped.  Well the letters I arranged on my grid mat by line and stuck down on my stamp block and did it that way but it was time consuming.  Would have been therapeutic if  my kids didn't come in every 5 minutes to ask me if I was done. UGH!!

So here is something funny, well not really.  I had completely finished the card and wanted to add a little glitter.  I got these glitter pens, Zig, Wink of Stella glitter marker a couple weeks ago and wanted to use it.  I started to apply it to the small blue flower on the top of the card and the glitter just poured out, I might have actually squeezed too hard.  :-(
So basically I had ruined the card, essentially.  I was about to do the whole card over when I realized I probably didn't have the time or patience to do it all again.  So I stamped the flower pieces on to another white sheet and fussy cut it out and adhered it over the ruined flower.

I always say it feels great to craft and that I should do it more and then never have time.  BUT I really do need to craft more.  LOL!!
For the flowers I used Papertrey Ink and Hero Art inks.

Alright, that's it, see you tomorrow for more inspiration using our July kit.  :-)

Your card turned out beautiful!!! I made a card yesterday where I cut the ribbon on my bow too short, so I glued a scrap piece of ribbon on top to cover it up...I'll bet your fussy cut flower adds a little more dimension to your card IRL, so maybe it was a good thing the glitter pen fouled up your card. But I am sorry it took so long. Some cards are like that, aren't they? Your friend will LOVE this card. While you had your Paper Smooches alphas all lined up, you probably should have made sets of these cards...it is really cute!
