You Make Me Smile

Sandi Pressley here and I love Valentine's Day.  I love to tell my family how much they mean to me and Valentine's Day is a day to do just that.  When I found out that the January kit was love/Valentine's Day themed I {may} have let out a little squeal!  And the colors are my very favorite....who can go wrong with pink, red and aqua???  This first card that I made was inspired by Suzanne's awesome sketch:

Try your hand at this sketch and/or the layout sketch and you could win a kit of your choice from Artful Delight.....details on the sketch challenge are right HERE.

Here is a picture of the entire January card kit---it is chock full of fun and pretty stuff all coordinated for you to make pretty cards and projects.

There are a few kits left you can check out the details HERE.

Happy Valentine's Day Card

This is June Houck and I am delighted with the January kit at Artful Delight.  Each kit is always fun and packed with so many goodies, and I promise that this particular kit is even yummier in real life.  The three patterned papers and the sentiment die cut are all Fancy Pants "Be Loved" and all are included in the January 2014 card kit.  My baker's twine is from a 2012 Artful Delight kit and the button was in my stash.

Would you like a chance to win next month's kit?  Create a card using this sketch (or a layout using the scrapbook sketch...see the right side bar for both sketches and the link up tool.)

I used the card sketch quite literally, so the card practically made itself.

Happy Sunday!  June

Believe

Today’s inspiration was created by our Delightful Designer Sandi, using our December card kit and sketch.

Here is what Sandi said about creating this card:

"100% December's kit.....even used the dimensional foam.  Used the pennant pieces as Christmas trees, the twine for garland on one of the trees, the clear twinkle gemstones as tree topping stars and the red ones as ornaments on one of the tree.  I tried to think outside the box while not straying far from Suzanne's awesome sketch.  I LOVE that rustic wood patterned paper."

So Many Of My Smiles Begin With You

Today’s inspiration was created by our Delightful Designer June, using our November card kit.

Here is what June said about her card,
"I took some liberties with the sketch to create a masculine card.  Whenever I use a kit I tend to gravitate to polka dots and flowers, so every month I challenge myself to try to make a masculine card from the kit."

Fore more details please visit June here.

Welcome Designer Sandi Pressley!

Today’s inspiration was created by our Delightful Designer Sandi, using our November card kit and card sketch!  You might recognize Sandi as she was our guest designer in August. We are thrilled to have her as a member of our card kit team.
I am Sandi Pressley, lover of paper, glue and embellishments.  I spend my weekdays selling building materials (yawn) and my evenings making pretty things.  I have 2 grown sons, a daughter-in-law and 4 beautiful grandchildren who along with my wonderfully patient husband are the loves of my life.  My sons and their families live in the midwest 1000 miles from where I live in Florida.  Scrapping their pictures and making cards for them helps me stay in touch and not miss them quite so much.  My first scrapbooks I made while still a teenager and they featured my heart throbs The Osmonds!!  I started scrapping seriously about 6 years ago and have met so wonderful people in this industry it is incredible.  Papercrafters are just really NICE people.  I have followed Artful Delight nearly from the beginning and have entered nearly all of the monthly sketch challenges.  To be able to work every month with the card kit is going to be heavenly and I cannot wait to get started.

My blog is called Slightly Off Center and the address islifeatthebeach51.blogspot.com

Introducing Design Team Member June Houck!

Today’s inspiration was created by our Delightful Designer June, using our November card kit and card sketch.  We are thrilled to have June back with us!
I began creating my own cards when my mother invited me to attend a stamping convention in the late 1990s.  I had no idea what to expect; I was overwhelmed with the different types of inks and papers, yet I left that day with lots of papers, inks, and stamps.  When I returned home I went in search of a local stamp store to take classes.  I was working full time teaching middle and high school math, so I only had a little time to craft even on the weekends.  A few years later I gave birth to fraternal twin girls and I became a SAHM; I missed teaching, so I began teaching classes at stamp stores.  On June 1, 2007 I started a blog as a way to share my creations with my crafty friends.  After just a few months, challenge blogs began to emerge and I enjoyed participating whenever I had time play along.  What a fun way to make friends from all over the globe who share the same passion!  There are so many talented crafters and so much inspiration to be found. My crafting has evolved over the years to include patterned papers and different embellishments.  My most recent obsession is sequins :)

I have been married to my college sweetheart, Doug Houck, for nearly 22 years.  Doug is a wonderful husband and father and is completely supportive of my paper and stamp hobby/therapy.  He even knows a few crafty terms, like vellum, acetate, card stock, and patterned paper (yeah, he's a keeper!)  Before we were married one of my students gave me two kittens (my first set of twins LOL), and I named them Sadie & Skeeziks.  Our furry children lived to be 14yo & 22yo, respectively!  We have had many happy years when it was just us and our furry children, but also lots of fun when our non-furry children came along.  Our twin girls are nearly 11yo.  The only thing I like better than paper play is our family time in the evenings and on weekends.

Guest Designer Kimberly Clark

Today I would like to give a big welcome to Kimberly Clark, winner of our September card sketch challenge!  Kimberly chose to work with our October card kit.

So... a bit about my self - well my name is Kimberly Clark - yes just like the toilet paper company!!!  I am a mother of a 21 year old daughter, whom I have completely raised on my own, and I must say didn't do to bad ~lol.  She is great only a little bit of attitude and saucyness... but I think that all children have that in them.
Seven years ago I moved to Hamilton Ontario (city of waterfalls) to purchase my own home.  I love to scrapbook , read and according to my daughter I am a work-a-holic.  I love my job... which isn't something everyone can say.
I consider myself still new to the scrapping world and learning daily.  I would say that I haven't completely found my style - I know that I enjoy the cutesy and a clean and simple style.  I started with scrapbooking but have been drawn into the world of cards.   What inspires me... a picture, a paper, a sketch... just about everything. I even grab ads in the paper that catch my eye and post them all over my scraproom.

I am super excited to be featured at artful delight, and have found that the kits are amazing!

August Guest Designer, Sandi Pressley

Happy Sunday!!
Today I would like to welcome the winner of our July sketch challenge
and our guest designer for August, Sandi Pressley.

I am Sandi Pressley and I am so excited and honored to be August’s Guest Designer here at Artful Delight.  I am having so much fun working with the August card kit I can barely contain myself!  I live in sunny Florida just 5 miles from the beach with my wonderful and supportive husband David.  I work long hours as an inside sales associate for a roofing and building material supplier.  I am originally from the Chicago area (Go Blackhawks!) and my 2 sons and 4 grandchildren still live up there.  I miss them terribly but scrapping their pictures, and life moments helps me feel closer to them.  That is how I got started scrapping 6 years ago.  I love to create cards, traditional layouts, Project Life pages and some off the page projects.  Wreaths, banners, altered frames and gift boxes/tags are some of my favorites to create.  I love photography, junking, going to the beach and watching football and hockey.  I am a loyal fan and root for my Chicago teams.  I love the color aqua and anything nautical especially anchors.  I scrap in the early evening and the weekends.  My hubby and I like to travel....there is SO much to see and do here in Florida so between our travels and my grandchildren I am never short on pictures to scrap.
Please stop by my blog Slightly Off Center here.

Sandi chose the August Card Kit as her prize and designed these two cards:

Smile

Happy Monday!
My kids head back to school today.
My sweet baby Isabel starts kindergarten.
I would bet money that I will shed a tear this morning.
I think I shed a couple last night when the kids were getting ready for bed and Isabel couldn't stop talking about how fun it's going to be and how excited she was to go to school.
My babies are all growing up and way too fast.
Nicki is a junior and Lil Tony is in 1st grade.
CRAZY!!
