Quick card

Hello my friends!! 

So I had my work Christmas party/meeting last night.  The ugly sweater one, well I am happy to report that although my branch didn't win the "team" ugly sweater, I won the female with the ugliest sweater.  There were 90+ people at the party with the majority of them women, and I won.  So excited.  :-) 

I will be sharing a picture later.  We took a lot of pictures at the party but I don't think you can really see our shirts.  I might have to put it back on and take a picture so you can all see.  

Now today I have to go to another Christmas party for work but this is just for our branch.  So there will be 10 or so of us going to lunch/dinner at My Big Fat Greek Restaurant.  Totally excited.  We will be exchanging secret Santa gifts and I didn't have a card so I whipped one together really quick.  I think it took me about 30 minutes to make and that was only because of the time it took to cut out all the pieces with my Silhouette. 

Thanks to my Silhouette I came up with this....

I used cardstock on this card.  The belt is black felt and the buckle was embossed with silver embossing powder. I used some gems for the eyes that I colored black with a marker and a gem for him nose.  The beard, and hat have liquid applique on it.  LOVE that stuff.  

So I am going to watch a lil football and then get ready to PAR-TAY!! LOL!!  

 

Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

Good morning my friends!!! I would like to wish all of you and your families a VERY Merry Christmas!! I woke up to the sounds of my kids "ooohhhh," "WOW" to all the gifts under the tree.....the best part is they weren't expensive toys and they didn't get that many but they were VERY happy with everything they got.

Today is the 25th and usually we do the kit reveal today but since most of you are probably spending the day with your family and may not be online blog hopping, I thought I would hold off until tomorrow. :-) Today I will just share with you a frame I made for my Grandma. I used some papers from the December kit and I used some Thickers and bling from the January kit.




I started with a $1 frame from Michaels and some acrylic paint. I couldn't match the paint color just right so there is actually like 15 layers of paint on the frame. LOL!! First I wanted a blue, then I thought maybe just white and then I changed to this orangy color. It went well with the flowers on one of the Authentique papers in our December kit. :-)

So I painted the frame and then I traced and cut that white paper. I adhered it with Mod Podge then coated the top with Mod Podge to seal it.

I used my Tim Holtz sander to rough up the edges, give it a distressed look. And since there was white underneath the orange it turned out really cool. Then I fussy cut the flowers and adhered them. I used some Glossy Accents (thank you for the idea Abby!) I also used some bling from the upcoming January kit on the largest flower.

Then I used the Thickers from the January kit (more on those tomorrow) and painted them with the same orange paint as the rest of the frame.

And that's it. Sent it to my Grandma a little late but I am happy to report she got it on Friday! LOL! :-)

My second Christmas card

Yeah, I need to get on the ball, Christmas is right around the corner and I have only made TWO Christmas cards. Seriously last year I hustled the first week of December to get my cards made. I wait to make Christmas cards like I wait to go Christmas shopping. I swear I go the week before Christmas. I don't know why I do that to myself. Last year I actually went around Thanksgiving but that was only because I was about to have my baby and I was having a c-section so I knew I was not going shopping right after that. Yikes!
Anywho, I played along with Skipping Stones Design Challenge #48. I can't remember the last time I played along with them but when I saw the sketch, designed by Karen Giron.





Yeah I know, crappy picture, but again I am a night crafter. One day I will do something about the pictures. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey's Jovial collection. The 6x6 paper pad is available at Artfuldelight for $5.50. Forgive me but I cannot for the life of me think of the name of the 2 stamp sets I used. I am so bad with that. I know the sentiment is from SU but that's all I have. LOL! The snowman was from a set that I purchased at Michaels last winter. I used some Stickles on the scarf and hat. Can't really tell in my crappy picture. LOL!

Anywho, that's it for now. Check back later as the winner of October's sketch challenge will be announced and featured. I may wait until tomorrow, it will just depend on if I can get a free moment to post it.
