4U

Just a quick post, it has been a while since I have been able to sit down and craft. Lots going on here and my mojo is non-existent. But I did make a quick card for the color inspiration challenge over at Off the Wall Craftiness. The colors to use are blue, yellow and white. For my card I used 2 different shades of blue so I hope it counts. :-)

My usual Kraft cardbase. The white rays are from Practicing Creativity Design's You're Dandy stamp set.....LOVE it!!
The sun and the flowers are cut out from Fancy Pant's Rusted Sun collection. I used some Crushed Curry cardstock from Stampin' UP! and "4u" is from American Crafts chipboard alphas, called Bliss in coffee color.

My giveaways end tonight, in approximately 55 min so if you haven't entered please click the links at the top of my blog. If you have entered be sure to check back in the morning, maybe late morning to see who the winners are.

Check it out!

Ok so I originally was going to title my post "Check out my Poll" until I realized even though it is "poll" it sounded a bit inappropriate. LOL! Anywhoo, I have a poll in my sidebar that I was wondering if y'all could take a second and vote on. I am in the process of restocking my store and I am trying to get a general idea of what people typically order when they buy paper crafting products.
It would seem that when I first stocked the store I didn't do so well picking out "popular" items. LOL! Ooopps!!

Sooooo, if you could just take a sec and clickity click on an answer that would be great. :-)

Scroll down for my other post for the day!

Circle, circles and more circles

Happy Monday my crafty friends! Today I decided to make a LO. I have so many pictures to put in the scrapbooks, some days I just don't know where to start. LOL!

I used just a plain white 12x12 cardstock. I am not even sure where it came from. It was just in my stack of paper. The ginormous scallop and all the circles were cut with my Cricut. The pattern paper is from Pebbles Inc, Lil Buddy collection. The circles are cut from Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and some blue color I am not sure the name, all from Stampin' UP!

And there ya have it. It was quick and easy! Don't forget to enter my giveaways! They end July 31 at midnight EST. Now I think the post may have originally said July 30 and then somewhere else I posted July 31. My kids must have been yelling at me and confusing me when I was trying to type. LOL! Either way I will end the giveaway July 31 at midnight EST. Click on the links at the top of the page to enter the giveaways, I have some great stuff to giveaway!!!

Thanks

Today we had a storm roll through, it lasted a total of 5 minutes from start to finish. In that time it managed to knock out our power. I was crafting when the winds started blowing and then....the power flickered off. I was able to finish my cards even though it was a bit dark in my room.
We left the house for a while, since it was extremely how in the house. We returned home around 8:30 and thankfully the power was back on.
So here are my cards I made. They were super simple but I kinda like the way they turned out.

I used my favorite, Kraft card base. I used Ruby Red and Old Olive ink from Stampin' UP! as well as some Versamark. First I stamped the Versamark on the card and then layered the Ruby Red and Old Olive. On a separate piece of Kraft cardstock I inked one more flower of each color. I cut out the flowers and popped them out with dimensional adhesive. The "thanks" is also from that stamp set. Oh I didn't mention the set is from Studio G and it was only like $2 from Michaels. The "thanks" was stamped with Creamy Brown Colorbox Chalk Ink. LOVE that stuff! I also adhered that with dimensionals. I rounded the corners. Oh and to add a little extra to the flowers I used some glitter chipboard Thickers from American Crafts (I used the "periods"). It is called Bliss in Coffee (color). That is my FAVORITE Thickers set.

I hope y'all have a wonderful week!!

The Beach

edit: I just realized that I uploaded the wrong picture. I have uploaded the correct one.

During my daily blog hopping I ran across a fabulous gallery and website. It is called snapNcrop.com. Oh my I was blown away at all the wonderful LO's I saw. The layouts were all in Mosaics. I though, oh how super cool! I thought I would give it a try. So I bought the 12x12 grid paper that they sell.

I received the paper the other day but didn't get to make or finish the LO until today. I will say that without a 1 inch punch or the grid mat that is designed to help cut the squares, it was a bit challenging but I made due with what I had. I may buy the mat or a punch in the future. But anywho here is my LO:
Alright, go easy on me. I know some of the squares are crooked. But seriously without the proper tools, half way through this LO my head was starting to hurt. I really think this technique is super cool and you can mix and match how you lay out the page but really my exacto knife and ruler just didn't ease the work.

Hope you like it! And don't forget to get your entries in on my giveaways! Click here or here to enter!

Happy Everything!

Ok, so here is what I decided today. See I have lost my mojo, well mostly with card making. I blog hop a lot and it seems like when I see someones card they may say how they are making this card and that card FOR someone. To me it would seem a lot of card makers make cards with a purpose. For me, I don't send cards very often so when I make them I don't have a purpose. It makes it hard to "personalize" them. I am not sure if this makes any sense to anyone but my inspiration and creativity comes from "why I am making the project". I think that is why I will always be a scrapbooker at heart. I have been scrapbooking for 13 yrs and I get such pleasure and satisfaction from making layouts. Does any of this make sense to ANYONE? LOL!

Here is my example, I made 2 projects today to share with you. One was a Bind-it-All project and one was a card. I bought my first digital kit the other day and had to try it out. I had no purpose for the card, no one in mind to send it to.....so I really had no where to go with it. It was simple but cute and somewhere down the line I may find a use for it. The other project I made was using my BIA. I am sort of old fashioned and still prefer my pen and paper to keep track of bills and other important info in my life. I don't use a check register to every month in a Composition book I write down which bills are due, how much I paid, the check number and when the check was sent. Basically just like a register but because it is in the notebook I have more room to make notes and add things and make corrections. Well the book I had been using I have had for 2 years. I was getting old and ragged. Now the BIA book I made is nothing fancy but I made it will a purpose, someone (me) will be using it so while I was making it I saw my vision. Again, does this make any sense? Seriously, or am I just alone in this crazy crafty mind game?

So my point is I am going to start making a variety of projects from cards to BIA projects to scrapbook pages. I hope you will all still join me and continue to check out all that I have to share.

Alright on with my projects, here is the card I made using my new digital kit I got from Two Peas. I think it is called Party Monkey by Holly Jones.
Everything is from the digital kit except the "happy everything" sentiment. That is actually a stamp I got from the dollar bin at Michaels. It was actually super fun making this card. I see more digital kits in my future. LOL!

Next is my BIA project. I used a 7.5x5 Coverall with 3/4in O-wire.
First I used Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels that I purchased the other day from my local craft store. It's called Pashmina, is has like gold glitter tints to it. Super cool looking when dry, you can't really see that in the picture. I realized that is went very well with the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP from Stampin' UP! I used a piece of that paper to cut out the top note shape which I did with my Cricut. I also cut out "Bills" with my Cricut and my S-CAL program. The lines paper I used on the inside I actually printed off a website, www.printablepaper.net.
I really like the way this turned out. I am super excited to sit down tomorrow and start using the book, writing down all my upcoming bills for August.

Here is one this that I wish that BIA/Zutter would do, I LOVE the Coveralls. Now since I am on this "making my own notebook" kick, I wish they made Coveralls that were big enough to use 10.5x8in notebook paper. I would never buy another store bought notebook again. LOL! Since college isn't strict on what kind of notebooks I use for note taking, I will be using the 7.5x5 Coveralls to make myself notebooks. But for my kids who are in schools that are particular about the size notebooks they use, a 10.5x8in Coverall would be so handy.

Alrighty, there you have it. I am in the process of making a SUPER cool scrapbook LO. I found this cool website with a cool technique for LO's. Ok, I said "cool" way too many times. I will share all the info on this LO and website when I have a picture to post. Hopefully I will have it finished by tomorrow.
Also if you haven't entered in my 2 giveaways, then go check it out. Click here for the Cosmo Cricket candy and here for the box o'goodies candy. These giveaways both end July 30 at midnight EST.

Yippee! More Candy!

COMMENTS ARE CLOSED - WINNERS HAVE BEEN ANNOUNCED! :-)

Happy Monday evening fellow crafters! If you haven't noticed already, I LOVE giving. It puts such a smile on my face. So I have some goodies to giveaway this week. I am going to start fairly small and then in a day or so I will have the big one. Today's giveaway will have 3 winners. I have 3 Cosmo Cricket, Material Girl Crafting Kits up for grabs. This kit includes: 12 Designer Papers, 18 Cut Apart Element Cards, 8 Cut Apart Borders and 19 Cardstock Stickers.

You know the drill, just become a follower if you aren't already and leave me a comment. For an extra entry, blog about it and be sure to leave a comment.

My first official BIA project

Oh my it is the beginning of another week. Were is the time going? I have been away from crafting a bit over the last week or so, not sure if it's my mojo or just life or what but I did manage to finish a project today. Not that it took me all week or anything but this is what I have to share.

I LOVE my Bind-it-All. I made some teacher gifts a month ago, the post-it note holder but it wasn't really complex or anything so I didn't really count that as anything. But this is a notebook for my daughter to use when she goes to school.

Mod Podge and I have a love hate relationship. I love that it seals the project and keeps the paper safe from everything but it makes my paper bubble up and it also makes the cover a bit tacky and sticky. Is this normal or did I somehow do something wrong? Does anyone have any suggestions of a product I can use over paper and chipboard to seal the project?

Overall though I think my daughter will love it. And I love being able to make it for her. Since I will be going to school in the fall too, I may be making some for myself.
I painted the chipboard with some pearly acrylic paint. Then I used some pattern paper from Basic Grey's Olivia collection as well as some of the sticker elements. I used some Old Olive cardstock from Stampin' UP! to line the inside of the book. And there you have it.

I have all the goodies together for my next giveaway. I just need to upload the picture and blog about it. Check back in the morning to see all the great stuff I have to give away. I think I may have a couple giveaways again.

Merci Beaucoup

Just a quick little card today. I send a lot of Thank You cards, usually when someone buys something from Artfuldelight and so I always need quick and easy cards to make. This one wasn't as quick as my usual card but I needed to spice it up a bit.

This card is a 4x4 Kraft card base. The thin strips of paper are actually scraps from other cards I have made. Since I don't like to waste, lol, I decided to use them on this card. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey's Max and Whiskers collection, which is available at Artfuldelight for $9.75 and that is for the collection pack. Retail value of $22. HUGE savings. The ribbon is from Cosmo Cricket. The sentiment and bird stamps are all from Basic Grey, called Tweet.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Crafting!!

Extending the latest Blog Candy

TLC280 - Thanks

Hello! Been busy here in Winchester. LOL! I made this card 2 days ago and have not found the time to post about it but here I go.

Here is a sketch from CPS-Card Sketches. I also participated in Try a new technique over at Splitcoaststampers. It was called Paper Posies. My understanding was to use something other than a pre-made flower. So I made my own flower, a little fabric, hot glue and a brad to top and voila.......

The pattern paper is from Pebbles Inc, Twitterpated collection. I added the glitter to the paper. I felt it matched the fabric flower a bit because it also had a bit of glitter on it. I used my handy dandy sewing machine to put some stitches around the edge, used a sentiment stamp from Basic Grey's Green at Heart collection, Tree Hugger stamp set. It is actually supposed to say "Thanks for everything you do" but I cut/separated the stamp. I like the script on the "thanks" and I use it a lot so I cut the other part off.
The picture turned out brighter than I originally thought it would be so you can't really tell the color of the card base but it is from SU called Brushed Silver. It's like a metalic-y grey color. Pretty cool.

Supplies:

Stamp: Tree Hugger (Basic Grey - Green at Heart collection)

Paper: Twitterpated (Pebbles Inc), Brushed Silver (SU)

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Misc: hand made fabric flower

Happy Monday! FS178

Good Morning! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. Other than my truck getting broken in to my weekend was pleasant. I made this card yesterday to try and calm my nerves from all the junk going on with the truck and the money it will cost to fix it. BOoooo!!! So I went over the SplitcoastStampers and participated in their Sunday Featured Stamper challenge.
Here is a link to cookiebaker's gallery and the card I chose to case. I think I need to go shopping because I am running out of embellishments to use.

The cardbase is Grey cardstock from Stampin' UP! I used the Olivia collection from Basic Grey. I also used a layer of Whisper White and Old Olive cardstock from SU. The butterfly is cut out with the Butterfly punch from SU. The silver brads are also from SU. The stamp is from Stampendous that I got from my local craft shop. It's called Hugs and Laughs.
So there you have it. I am about to run off to the store (sucks my window is busted out!)and go grocery shopping. Shopping these days with 3 lil ones has been a bit stressful but I need to get out of the house so wish me luck, LOL!

Supplies:

Stamp: Hugs and Laughs (Stampendous)

Paper: Basic Grey, Whisper White and Old Olive (SU), Olivia collection (Basic Grey)

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Misc: silver brads (SU)

Super Sale!

Check out Artfuldelight.com. I am having a liquidation sale on select Basic Grey, Cosmo Cricket and Sassafras products. So check it out!

Happy 4th of July! - SSS63

Well this is not a 4th of July card but I was at a loss for title names. LOL! I made this card yesterday but it was pretty busy and I didn't have a chance to upload it. I participated in Sweet and Sassy's Saturday sketch challenge over at The Sweet Stop! I love their sketches and try to participate as often as I can.
So here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

This is my first real attempt at using and coloring an image on my card. I used Prisma Markers to color the image. How did I do? I can do shading a little on the hair but maybe I just didn't have the right colors or enough colors because the rest of my image isn't really shaded but overall I like it. The card base is Grey cardstock from SU and the pattern paper is from Basic Grey's Olivia collection. The buttons and brads are also from SU as well as the ribbon. Heck I think the white cardstock is also SU except for where I stamped the image that is a water color paper. So there is my card for today. Hopefully when the kids go down for a nap I will be able to craft again. I am feeling a bit bummed today, when I woke up this morning I found out my truck was broken in to last night. Some punk made his way up and down our street, broke in to 5-6 cars, stealing change, GPS's car radios and breaking out several peoples windows. Ours was one of them. So I am hoping crafting a little will make me happy.

Hope you all have a fabulous 4th of July!!!

Supplies:

Stamp: Stamp from Greeting Farm (I think)

Paper: Grey and Whisper White cardstock (SU), Olivia collection (Basic Grey)

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Prisma markers

Misc: Buttons, Brads and Ribbon all from SU

Happy Crafting!!
