ONE stamp, THREE different cards

Hello my friends. I was able to craft a bit today which is good because I really wanted to play along with The Paper Variety. Their challenge this week was a tic-tac-toe board. You had to chose three items in a row. I chose hand/machine stitching, use the color pink, and make a card.

A week or so ago I bought this awesome Hero Arts stamp from Michaels. I think it was my reward to myself for doing well in my classes, LOL! I have yet to use the stamp but today I decided it was time.

I made three different cards. three different techniques with the one stamp. The base of the card is a Hero Arts note card in Blush. There are three different colors in the package and I used one of each for these cards.

The stamp is called Flower Text and I absolutely love it.

In the first card I used a piece of water color paper and embossed it with white embossing powder. Then, thanks to a technique I saw on Jennifer McGuire's blog I used some distress ink, liquid pearls, and water and began to "water color" the image. As soon as I was done coloring it all in I used a moist baby wipe and smeared it across the top of the image. It sort of blended it all together. Softened some of the areas that were a bit bold with color. On the inside of this card I stamped "thinking of you."

This next card I used water color paper again and my distress inks. I tapped the ink pad in various colors all over the stamp to give it a mixture of colors. Then before I pressed the stamp on my paper I generously misted the stamp with water. I use the Mini Mister from Ranger. When it's wet it looks a little messy and watery but as soon as it dries it looks pretty cool. Then I used a stamp from Stampendous that I had in my stash to stamp the sentiment.

This last card is created using the good 'ol paper piecing. I used Echo Parks Victoria Gardens to create this card. I stamped the image in chalk ink on some white paper and then I stamped the image on various pattern papers from the Victoria Gardens collection. I began cutting and paper piecing. A couple of the pieces have been pop dotted to give a little dimension. This card I left with no sentiment.

And that is all for me this evening. I am actually not sure anymore which card to submit to TPV's challenge. I was going to submit the paper pieced one but now I don't know. :-)

Happy Crafting!!
