DAY 7 and WINNER

Happy Sunday.

Today I am thankful for a lot.  I am thankful for our veterans who fight for me to be free.  I have many friends whose husbands are in the military, Tony's dad was a Marine and my uncle was also in the military.

I am thankful that I have the means to be able to make this post today to give thanks for all that I have.  I have a roof over my head and food on my table.  My children laugh and play every day.  I am thankful that they have the freedom to do so.

I am thankful for the mistakes that I have made in my life to bring to me where I am today.

I am thankful for my job and my cars that I have that allow me to get to my job.
Speaking of my job, so my love of crafting got me a day of paid time off on Monday.  LOL!  So we have a mandatory meeting in December, it's like a Christmas party but we HAVE to attend and we get paid for it.  Well the theme is ugly sweater.  I work for a bank and there are 8 branches within our market so we wanted to do something with the ugly sweater thing as a team.  We couldn't find inexpensive sweaters so we decided to all wear turtle necks.  I can't remember the last time I wore one of those.  LOL!  So my task is to decorate the turtle necks to "make them ugly."  So I get off on Monday, paid day off, to stay home and decorate the shirts.  In addition we have to put on a skit, we have to chose a scene from a Christmas movie (one where all 11 of us at our branch can be in it) and change the words of that scene to be bank related.  Somehow I was put in charge of that.  Now this is going to cause me to think outside the box because I am a paper crafter not a movie writer.  LOL!!  So if any of you have any suggestions it would be greatly  appreciated.
I will show you the shirts when I am done.  I have to "alter" 11 turtle necks to make them ugly.  Wish me luck, lol.

Anywho,

For all that I am thankful for I made extra sure that I gave back this Thanksgiving holiday.  I donated money to charities to feed families for the holiday.  I am trying to give back as much as I can because so many people helped me out over the years, especially when I was a single mom for about 6 years.

I am thankful that I have off on Sundays so I can watch football. (lol)

I am thankful to have the next two days off so hopefully I can fee better.  I came home from work last night and took some medicine and went to bed, I got a pretty awesome nights sleep.

And as always I am thankful for all of you.  I am thankful that each month I get to announce a winner of my sketch challenge.  :-)

So the winner of this month's sketch challenge is:

Libeeti from Creations with Love

Please email me with your December kit selection and your mailing address.  :-)

leeanne@artfuldelight.com

Alright well I am off to the store to get my Christmas tree.  The kids are excited to decorate it.  :-) And then it is football time.  :-)

WINNER!!!

Good Morning my friends!!! I hope everyone has been doing well. Life has just seriously gotten really busy and not even with packing/moving stuff; just normal life. I have been working more, dentist and doctor appointments, taking my son to speech therapy, running here and there.......I can only imagine what is in store for my family when I have 2 kids in school, 2 kids in daycare, and both Tony and I are working full time and eventually trying to go and finish school. There will seriously not be enough hours in the day. Well today's agenda includes the dentist for all 4 kids, mowing the lawn and hopefully a little packing. We are T-minus 76 days until we move. :-)

Today I just have the winner of my recent giveaway to announce. I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that entered and answered the question that I mentioned in the post. It is so nice to hear that those that entered/won would be willing to pitch in for shipping. I even had a couple comments that said they would buy a box of goodies. :-) I think for now I will stick to giving it away. :-) But yes, shipping is getting expensive. So what I am going to do, after I load a box of stuff to today's winner I am going to divide all the rest of my stuff up, see how many boxes I have and we will have a giveaway real soon to get rid of all those boxes. :-)

So today's winner is comment #11:

Congratulations Lisa.  Please email me your mailing address so I can get your package in the mail to you.  :-)

leeanne@artfuldelight.com

Our week is almost over and I start my summer classes on Monday.  My summer classes should be easy peasy.  :-)

April 17, 2012

Happy Tuesday and a winner!

Good Morning my friends!!!! I don't have anything crafty for you today but I wanted to announce the winner of our recent giveaway. I also wanted to post an update and some info about our monthly kits.

First is kind of a disclosure. Artful Delight is able to offer amazing kits at amazing prices because all the money is put towards product. What I mean is I try not to use fancy packaging or anything like that. I try to keep any extra costs to a minimum so I can pack as much as I can in to the kits. Our kits are shipped in Priority Mail boxes unless I am shipping international.

Next, all product included in the kits are "while supplies last." If for some reason I run out of a certain product I will replace it with something of equal value. It might be extra of something already included in the kit or something else I found matched the kit. This doesn't happen often but it has happened. The kits will always be valued the same.

Third, CARD KIT prices will increase a little bit starting in May. Any current subscribers will not be affected by this price increase for the remainder of their subscription. Our card kits and scrapbook kits will be priced the same. For the past couple months the card kits retail value is the same as the scrapbook kits so I thought they should be priced the same way. This will allow me to offer a single monthly purchase price and a 3 month and 6 month subscription price. The prices are as follows:

Single month purchase $32.50
3 month subscription $30.50
6 month subscription $27.50

Shipping charges will be a bit less for card kits though, $5.50. I think this is still a super fantastic price - all the papers, embellishments, adhesive, AND a full sized stamp set - Retail value is usually around $15.

Finally, with my upcoming move, I will only be ordering a very few extra kits above the kits for subscribers. I may only have one or two extra and depending on how many subscribers I have during a month I may not have any extra kits to be purchased as a single purchase. There are several reasons for this. One is whatever is not sold has to be packed and I am so restricted to how many boxes I can have, I don't want there to be a ton of boxes of "inventory." Also I will traveling for about a week and won't have access to my craft stuff. I won't be able ship anything out anyway.
So with that said here are the benefits of subscribing.
  • You are guaranteed a kit every month during your subscription period
  • You will receive a discount price based on how many months you subscribe
  • PLUS there is no obligation - there are NO automatic deductions from your account - you will be sent a monthly invoice on the 25th of the month (the day of the kit reveal here on our blog) and if you want to skip that month or something you can just send me an email
  • You can ultimately cancel at any time - I would just ask that you give me as much notice as you can that you need to cancel but there is no penalty

I know "subscribing" sounds like a big commitment but really it isn't. There is absolutely no obligation. You may ask, "what is the point of subscribing then" - well it is mainly to give me an idea of how many kits I should order. Being a small company I just can't afford to order a ton of kits and be left with overstock for any extended periods of time. But at the same time I want to make sure everyone that may want a kit gets one.

So if you would like to subscribe, please send me an email - at this time your subscription would start with the May kit and you will not be billed anything until April 25th (edited to correct date).

Also, within the next couple days I will have a ton of Paper Smooches stamp sets for sale. They will be priced about 33% off retail.

Ok, ok now for the winner of our recent giveaway!!! Thank you to random.org - the winner is comment #13......

What a fun question. We are military so I've moved MANY times. Over the last 15 years I've moved a whopping total of 13 times! Which includes the house we just closed on last week ;) Hopefully this is our LAST stop! Thanks for a chance to win!

Congratulations!!! Please send me an email within 72 hours to claim your prize/provide snail mail. :-)

Winner!!!

Good Morning and TGIF!!!! I am just popping in real quick to announce the winner of the giveaway I had going on this week. I LOVED reading all your comments about how many boxes you would need to pack your craft stuff. In all fairness I didn't specify box size but it was amazing to see how much stuff everyone else has. I know I don't have much but I feel overwhelmed with what I have sometimes.....I couldn't imagine having double or triple that. I wouldn't know what to do with myself. LOL!!!

But anywho.....the winner thanks to random.org is comment #27.......

Paige said...

OMG, what a good question! Craft stuff is not light, so I would need way more than 30 boxes so I could still lift them! I'll say 45 conservatively!

Congrats Paige!!! If you could please email me your snail mail I can get your package of goodies in the mail to you!!! :-)

leeanne@artfuldelight.com

Well I am off to work on those cards that I had someone order. She changed her order to 36 cards. YIKES, it sure has kept me busy. Then I am off to meet up with June to help her move more stuff. It was so AWESOME to meet her yesterday!!!

WINNER!!!!

Good evening!! I totally forgot to chose the winner of the giveaway I was having. Today was such a crazy day. It started at 6:15am. I woke, got all the kids up, fed, and dressed. Tony has been having an ear infection for over a week and since he has no insurance he has been putting it off. Well he couldn't take it anymore so we took him to the urgent care. Dropped him off, dropped Nicki off at school, and headed back to the urgent care to keep him company. He was in and out in an hour and whatever they did almost instantly relieved his pain.......$300 later. YIKES!! I had to leave him with the kids because I had to be in Leesburg, VA (an hour or so from where I lived) at 10am for my first ever job interview (for an accounting position). Well everything was going great and about 10 miles away I heard on the radio there was a tractor trailer with a blown tire which caused traffic to do go to one lane. I had no idea where that was at in comparison to where I needed to be (I don't go out to Leesburg very much, well never) so I crossed my fingers it was well after my exit. OOOOOOhhhhhh no, 8 miles from my exit it was stopped traffic. I had 15 minutes to get to my interview. I call Tony, almost in tears because I was going to be late. I then called the HR lady and told her I would be late and she totally understood, she said several of their employees hadn't showed up yet. I ended up arriving 30 min late. Everyone was super friendly. I thought the interview was going really well, but who knows. I then had to rush back home so Tony could leave for work.

I am not too optimistic this job will work out. It is part time during the day which is great but to drive an hour each way, pay for daycare, and the gas may end up not being financially right for our situation. So although it was an awesome experience, I will not be heartbroken if I don't get the job.

WOW, so anywho, let's announce a winner already......

The winner of the random box of goodies is comment #8

Thank you to everyone that entered my giveaway. If you didn't win this time don't fret, I have a TON of stuff to giveaway and I will probably have another one sometime this week. Be on the lookout. LOL! :-)

Now I would like to share the card with you that Abby created. :-)

ABBY

WOW, all the detail that went in to this card. Love it. I have put together a few more card kits and they are now available at Artful Delight. The only thing that sold out in the kit was the Jillibean Soup note card and envelope set. I have been trying to get my hands on more but they have been out of stock for so long. Ugh. BUT to replace those I have added additional cardstock to the kit. So each card kit will include 8 sheets of each color for a total of 24 sheets of 8 1/2x11 cardstock. AWESOME!!!

Be sure to stop by Abby's blog for more inspiration and details on this card!! :-)

Winners!!

Happy Saturday!! So did any of you make it out for some Black Friday shopping? I did some online shopping but I did not make my way through any crowds. When my kids get a little older and want specific toys and such I will probably have to 'Black Friday' shop just to afford Christmas, lol!!

I did work last night though and it wasn't that bad. So, I got to be a part of Black Friday without having to wait in lines and spend money, lol!

I have some winners to announce. The winner of the sketch challenge and the giveaway I had a week or so ago. So here we go.....

The winner of the random goodie box is:

..........Diana from D.L ART..........

And the winner of the sketch challenge is:

..........Jill from Just Jill..........

Please send me an email with your snail mail within 72 hours so I can send out your prize. Congrats ladies!!! :-)

WINNER

Happy Wednesday!!! So last night I didn't have class. I have two classes on Tuesday nights and the Professor is the same for both. So four hours in the same room with the same guy. LOL! He is a great Professor, pretty laid back. Well he is really in to civil war reenactments and such so he went away for a week to do a tour in GA or something. Anywho, NO CLASS!! Wahoo. So we had family dinner and a movie which is pizza and buffalo chicken. Then I had signed up for a knitting class at Michaels. Nice perk, employees get to take classes for free. I thought the class was on the 8th but to my surprise it was last night.

Being left handed made it really difficult to learn from a right handed teacher. She had a tough time teaching me. LOL! But alas, I went home with ONE hand warmer. It's like a fingerless glove. I have been practicing all morning to get the other warmer made before Saturday when I work so I can show her.

Anywho, I have a winner to announce. Do you remember the giveaway I had, the Inkadinkado stamp set? Well thanks to random.org, the winner is #4

Congrats, if you could please email me your snail mail I can get your prize in the mail to you. Please claim your prize within 72 hours. A new winner will be chosen if the prize is not claimed.

Have you seen this month's kits? Oh they are delightful!!! :-) Click here to check out the details!

Generations of Love and The WINNER

Happy Monday my friends! I have only two weeks left until I start my fall semester. I am just trying to enjoy each day because this fall is going to be crazy busy.

Today I have a mini album to share with you that I created using Artful Delight's August monthly kit. I was also able to incorporate this month's sketch on the cover of the album. Before I get to that I want to mention to make sure you scroll down because I announce the WINNER of the giveaway I had going on to win Artful Delight's JUNE monthly kit.

So first is the mini. I saw this on a blog last week and thought it was cute. The lady on the blog called it a flag mini and she made a 4th of July themed mini. But I thought it would be cute decorated any way.

So I gathered a bunch of photos, me, Tony and our kids and then pictures of our parents and grandparents. Thus the title of the book "Generations of Love." Thankfully I still have some empty spots I can add pictures because I just realized I forgot to put the picture of Tony's dad in there and I need a picture of my youngest, Max.

I guess the book is called a flag book because of the way the pages are set up, when you move the front and back covers the tags in the middle that form the pages, "wave" back and forth in opposite directions. I really should do a video but I don't have good editing software. If anyone has any suggestions of what I could use I am open to ideas.

This cover goes along with this month's sketch challenge. The rose I cut with my Cricut, I have an SVG file to cut the rose swirl. I used the Stickles included in this month's kit to bling the edges of the rose and also to put some dots on the creme cardstock.

The next two pictures show the tags that I used, I cut them with my Cricut. The are just files that were included in my SCAL program. They measure 4"x2". I cut 4 black ones and 8 blue ones. On the black ones I clear embossed with one of my background stamps. The blue ones I left empty so I could add pictures and other embellishments. I don't have a picture but after I adhered pictures and embellishments and heat embossed, I used the seam binding ribbon from this month's kit and embellished the holes of the tags (you will see in later photos).

I started with a piece of cardstock that measured 6 1/4"x12". I scored 3" in from both ends. Then in between those 2 score lines I scored every 5/8".
Because of the way it was scored that would only leave the front and back cover with 3" of space to decorate so I cut two pieces of cardstock, 6 1/4"x6" and adhered it to the front and back. Since you could see the seam where I adhered the cardstock I have to cover that with more cardstock as you can see above.

Below is a picture of the "pages" where you will adhere the tags. Now in order to make the pages "wave" you need to adhere them on the opposite sides. There will be three rows. With the 8 blue tags I adhered them to the front of the peak. The 4 black tags were adhered to the back of the peak.
Can you see in the picture below how the blue tags are on the front and the black tags are on the back?

And here you can see they move in opposite directions.

Everything I used on this mini album is from Artful Delight's August monthly kit.

I really wish I could have done a video tutorial for you but if you want to try and make one and have any questions feel free to ask. :-)

Oh yeah I did it.......(oh and the winner of the giveaway)

Good Morning my friends!! Yesterday we spent the afternoon at a friends house. We celebrated 4th of July, her grandson's 3rd birthday, and her son was being deployed today. It was a great time, my kids had a blast. :-)

First I will share with you a couple pictures.

We don't have a kiddie pool but after I saw how much fun they had I know what we are getting sometime this week. LOL!!!

Ok so my title says "Oh yeah I did it" and that is referring to a 2 page LO!!! I have NEVER done one, I always felt a bit intimidated because I worried the two pages wouldn't line up. BUT I wanted to play along with Sketchy Thursdays and this weeks sketch was a two-pager, so I gave it a try. I had so much fun!!!

And here is the sketch.

Everything on this LO is from Artful Delight's July monthly kit. Well I kinda take that back, on the green cardstock there are some white circles (maybe it's hard to see in the picture) that I stamped with snow chalk ink and one of the stamps that came in the set I bought to make yesterday's card; the Tim Holtz stamp set. Oh and the kit comes with white cardstock but only one sheet, I used two for the background. Same with the polka dot pattern paper, the kit comes with one sheet and I had an extra sheet that is why I used two on the 2-pager. :-)

The July monthly kit is packed with cheerful and bright papers and embellishments, if you would like to purchase a kit, please click here.

And finally I have the winner of the giveaway to announce.....random.org chose #24
